The Samsung Galaxy A20 was a strong mid-range contender. It was a value-oriented device with great features and performance. The phone’s simplistic design made it popular back in 2019, but today’s mid-range smartphones are designed to look premium. Samsung has given the A20 a complete makeover, with the A21s. The new phone has Samsung’s Infinity-O design that resembles premium Galaxy devices. It is also the first Galaxy device to sport Samsung’s latest mid-range processor. Samsung claims the A21s balances style and performance.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s receives major design updates over its predecessor. The Infinity-O offers a widescreen experience without making the device taller or wider. The device has a plastic frame, and the rear has curved edges to provide a secure grip when navigating the screen. The rear panel has a glossy design, that changes colour depending on where you look at it. The device is significantly slimmer than its predecessor and it weighs close to 192 grams. The phone has a fingerprint reader at the rear that let you unlock the device, purchase apps and make payments. The A21s is available in Prism Black, Prism Blue and Prism White colours.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s has a 6.4-inch screen that runs a resolution of 720 x 2400. The display comes with a punch-hole design like premium Galaxy devices. The 82.9 per cent, screen-to-body ratio makes the screen nearly edgeless. Samsung claims, the display renders accurate colours along with outstanding consistency. It offers an immersive viewing experience, so you can enjoy watching movies, browsing webpages, and playing games.

The Galaxy A21s is Samsung’s first device to sport the latest Exynos 850 processor. Samsung claims, this processor is designed to deliver a strong performance. This means, frequently used apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp run smoothly. The device has a Mali-G52 GPU, that can handle most casual games along with high-end games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG: Mobile) with ease. The A21s is available in two configurations. The entry-spec model comes with 4GB of RAM while the high-end model has 6GB of RAM. Both models come with 64GB of internal storage. The A21 also has a dedicated microSD card slot, that lets you expand the storage up to 512GB.

The Samsung A21s runs the latest Android 10 OS and uses Samsung’s OneUI 2.0. The new UI looks like stock Android and offers an easy-to-use interface. Samsung has reduced the clutter and streamlined the UI for a simplistic look. Samsung has also redesigned the notifications window, to reduce interruptions while watching full-screen videos and playing games. The new UI also includes tons of new themes, fonts, and transitions effects to customise the interface. It also comes with smart gestures-based controls that makes navigating through menus and apps easier.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s comes with a quad-camera setup. The primary camera is a 48MP unit with f/2.0 aperture. The secondary 8MP ultra wide-angle camera has 123 degrees field-of-view to capture more area in a frame. This feature allows you to click great landscape and architectural images. The device has a 2MP macro lens that allows capturing ultra-fine close-up images. It also has a 2MP depth unit that lets you click DSLR-like bokeh pictures. The camera supports EIS and full HD recording up to 30 fps.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s comes with a 13MP front camera. It supports a wider field-of-view which is great for clicking group selfies. Both the rear and front cameras support HDR, allowing you to click detailed images in uneven lighting conditions. The camera app supports features such as Live photo mode and AI detection. It has a Pro Mode which lets you take control over camera settings such as ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and more.

Samsung has ensured the Galaxy A21 offers the best connectivity. It is a dual-SIM LTE device that comes with Wi-Fi 802.11ac, which is the standard these days. The phone also features Bluetooth 5.0 that offers improved speeds and wider range than older generations. The A21s also has NFC that lets you pair NFC-enabled devices and make payments just with a tap. The device has a massive 5,000 mAh battery that should power the device through a day or more, under moderate usage. Samsung also bundles a 15W Type-C fast charger, that can fully charge the phone in a few hours.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s perfectly balances style and performance. The device looks premium and it features a powerful processor, a quad-camera setup, making it a solid mid-range contender. All these features clubbed with Samsung’s reliability makes for a great deal for Rs. 16,499*.
