Why you should buy the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 this holiday season

Yet another year passes by and another line of flagships phones have arrived. There is a lot that’s on offer and fierce competition. The Samsung Note 8 is possibly one of the biggest launches this year and there is a lot to look forward to. So why should you consider it and what makes it so special?

It’s excellent for watching movies and playing games

The screen is what makes this year’s phones impressive. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is another stunner. Its 6.3-inch screen is massive, but that doesn’t make the device proportionately larger. That’s because of what Samsung is calling Infinity Display. This means you don’t have thick ugly bezels to worry about and pretty much the entire front of the phone is the screen. It’s curved on the edges too and it’s really something to look at! The resolution of the phone is quite a bit more too.

The new Note 8 runs an incredible resolution of 1440 x 2960, much higher than the vast majority of phones in the market today. What all this means is that, if you’re into browsing, watching movies and playing high-quality games, you’re rarely going to find a phone that looks better or more immersive.

Brute performance at your disposal

Designs and aesthetics are only as impressive as the performance in any device. Thankfully, the Samsung Note 8 doesn’t skimp on it. It runs a blazing-fast octa-core processor, made up of a 2.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with a second 1.7GHz quad-core processor. It also has 6GB of RAM, which is something you only find on some laptops and PCs. This means the Note 8 is right up there on the top of the charts as one of the fastest phones in the market.

This performance translates to an effort-less experience when you’re running multiple apps together or running two apps at once on the screen. The Note 8 has enough power to run the best of games at the highest quality or even VR titles.

Power of a DSLR in your pocket

Cameras built into mobile phones have been improving over the years and the Note 8 is no exception. It comes with a dual 12MP camera setup, one of which has 2X optical zoom. This means you can zoom into photos further and the quality of the cameras is impressive.

The built-in image stabilization feature means you don’t have to worry about blurred images when you’re clicking photos in a hurry or in low light. The camera lets you shoot 4K video and the ability to expand your storage means you can shoot hours of high-quality 4K content like you would on a professional DSLR or video recording equipment.

The S Pen gets better

The S Pen has been what makes the Note series of devices unique. The S Pen on the new Note 8 sees many improvements as well. It’s much more accurate and it makes doing many things so much simpler and fun. You can draw your own emojis and modify photos in seconds. It even lets you take notes without having to unlock the device, just like a real notepad.

The S Pen isn’t merely for pointing, you can use it to sketch and paint like a professional drawing tablet. It supports 4096 levels of pressure that lets you push the S Pen against the screen like you would with a pencil on the canvas.

Dual-SIM and microSD card support on a flagship phone

Most high-end phones are limiting in some way or the other. You’re either limited to one SIM card or not allowed to plug in additional storage. The Samsung Note 8 not only lets you use two SIM cards on it, so you don’t need to carry a second phone. It even lets you add a microSD card to the mix using its hybrid SIM card design. You can actually add 256GB to the Note 8 with a microSD card. This is one flagship that isn’t afraid of upgrading!

It’s built like a tank

The Note 8 isn’t just a beauty with features and performance; it’s also built to last. The Note 8 is IP68 rated which means you can drop it under 1.5m of water for about 30 minutes and it is dust-resistant too. This means less worrying about getting the phone dirty or getting drenched on a rainy day.

Support for the latest wireless connectivity standards

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 connects to devices and networks using the latest wireless standards available. Besides the latest 4G and VoLTE support that lets you experience the Jio network to the fullest, it also supports WiFi 802.11ac. This is the latest consumer WiFi standard that offers massively faster speed on networks so you can stream content to and from other devices easily. 4K media streaming is no issue either. Bluetooth 5.0, another new introduction is supported which include faster data transfer speeds, wider coverage and improved power efficiency.

It’s a great deal

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might seem like a lot of money, but it is money well spent. Considering the prices of some of the other new entrants to the market, the Note 8 offers a lot more, for a lot less. A phone such as the Note 8 is not something you will need to upgrade anytime soon. It sure has all the features and performance to keep it from turning obsolete for years to come.
