Apple launches new iPad models every year and this year saw a bigger and more powerful iPad Pro. It is packed with a powerful set of hardware and many unbelievable features that brings it closer to a computer. Our recent article on the Apple iPad Pro 2020 has reasons on why your next computer just might be an iPad. Between iPad Pro’s ability to stream content and play games, it is great for many other things.

A large screen is perfect for browsing the web, gaming, shopping online and scrolling thorough news apps. The iPad is also a great way to consume content, to keep in touch with friends through social media apps or just watch movies in bed.

To mirror screen to the TV

Connecting the iPad to the TV is surprisingly easy. There are two ways, either using an AV cable or using an Apple TV device. You can turn the TV into a giant iPad display. The iPad Pro can be a dedicated entertainment device for streaming content and music. The JioTV app for example, gives you instant access to TV programmes, live TV channels and movies. You can enjoy TV while you travel or while cooking in the kitchen. The best part is, you have the option to pause and resume content on your tablet or phone. Similarly, you can create own music library on Apple Music. Once you have your favourite songs queued, simply pair the iPad with a wireless speaker. Let the cover art roll on the large screen while you enjoy the music.

As a second display for the Mac

A simple software setup can turn your iPad into a second display for your Mac. This can be done using the Sidecar software to extend or mirror your Mac desktop. During your Sidecar session, you can continue using gestures, Apple Pencil, keyboard, mouse or the trackpad depending on your work. This feature makes it extremely useful at offices. There are other apps such as Air Display and Duet Display, that let you use the iPad as an extra screen for a PC. You can either connect the devices wirelessly or using a cable.

As a portable PC

Your iPad can be used as a secondary PC at home. You can continue working on the iPad, while sitting in front of the PC using the iPad as a remote control. Simply install RealVNC, a free software that lets you remotely control your PC. You can even take it one step further by connecting a keyboard to the iPad. Apple’s Magic Keyboard is designed specifically for iPads and iPhones, and can be connected using Bluetooth. The new iPad Pro supports the Smart Keyboard and the Smart Keyboard Folio. They can be connected to the smart magnetic connector on the back of the iPad Pro.

As the perfect gaming device

Gaming on the iPad has gotten better over the past few years. For example, the older iPad 2 and the iPad 3 with their front-facing and rear-facing cameras let users play augmented reality games, whereas the Retina Display allowed higher-resolution graphics than most gaming PCs. The new iPad Pro is the only tablet with a 120Hz refresh rate display. It makes a huge difference when playing games, video editing and sketching. Also, the Apple’s True Tone display automatically adjusts the brightness and white balance, to match the surrounding lighting. This means, you can spend hours on playing, video editing and reading without straining your eyes.

As a kitchen assistant

iPads can be a great kitchen companion. The Apple App Store has dozens of cooking apps where you can search, read or watch recipes on the large screen. In fact, you can install a tablet mount to place the iPad away from the kitchen hood and at your eye-level.

As a e-reader

The 2020 iPad Pro models are equipped with large 11-inch and 12-inch displays. Reading on a large, bright screen is fun. Apple Books has a collection of eBooks you would love to read. It is easy to find and read books on iPads. Another reason that make the iPad Pro a great eBook reader is its thin form factor and long-lasting battery. You can carry the iPad wherever you go and its 10-hours battery life will keep on going.

As a scanner

The all-new iPad Pro is not just for entertainment and gaming. It can also be used at schools and offices. The cameras on the iPad Pro aren’t just for clicking photos and recording videos, but they can also scan QR codes and physical documents. You can use the new iPad Pro as a scanner with the help of the Camera app. You can even edit, add signatures and share documents as PDFs using the Notes app.

The new iPad Pro is also useful for students for learning and visualizing content into the real world. Augmented Reality (AR) helps teachers to enhance learning with the help of AR apps in their existing lessons. There are lots of apps on the Apple App Store that offer fun and interactive learning in AR.

To create content

The dual cameras on the iPad Pro can capture beautiful photos and record videos, but even better, it can easily edit and add filters to the photos to make them look perfect. The Camera app has built-in editing features, settings and filters to crop out photos, add colours and brighten them. The iMovie app, for example, is free for iPad users and has fun templates, music and themes. That’s not all, you can even install several photo-editing, drawing and sketching apps from the App store.

One of the biggest benefits of the new iPad Pro is sketching and drawing. A large screen and the Apple Pencil support makes the perfect combination to turn the iPad into a sketchbook.

As a voice assistant

Siri has been around for more than a decade now, evolving as Apple’s voice assistant. Siri has a range of capabilities and it can do everything from telling jokes to solving mathematical problems. Siri saves time by helping you be more productive every day. You can activate it on your iPad to set alarms and timers, mark events in your calendar, check voicemails or search for nearby restaurants. These are some examples. There are literally hundreds and thousands of possibilities with Siri.

As a universal remote control

Tired of using multiple remote controls for AC and TV? The iPad Pro can be the perfect device to control other smart devices at your home. You can use dedicated apps to control them all from the comfort of your couch. In addition, a big screen makes it easy to navigate through program channels, control volume and settings than any remote control.

The iPad Pro is a revolutionary device. The hardware under the hood of the iPad Pro is powerful and as fast as a lot of laptops today. The iPad Pro is closer to a PC than ever before, and it can now be the device of choice for students, office professionals, artists and everyone else.
