Samsung Galaxy M02s – A practical, everyday phone

All of us don’t really need a flagship smartphone. Some of us just need a functional smartphone to make calls, to send messages, browse the web and listen to music. It’s for users like these, that the all-new Samsung Galaxy M02s makes sense. This is no expensive phone, so it costs around Rs. 8,999 for the starting model. If you want a little more performance, you can opt for the Rs. 9,999 model. Let’s look at what you get in a package at this price. Let’s not forget, it’s made by Samsung, so you can expect reliability and performance from it.
The Samsung Galaxy M02s looks nothing like an affordable phone. The phone weighs 196g despite its large screen and battery. It comes in three simple, but bold colours – black, blue and red. It has a large, usable screen. It spans 6.5 inches and it runs a resolution of 720 x 1600. Samsung calls it the Infinity-V display. The resolution is very close to being full HD and you won’t be able to notice the resolution of the screen. The screen size is also great for watching movies and TV shows on. There are little obstructions on the screen. There is a teardrop camera on the top which is barely noticeable when you play content on the screen. It’s hidden inside the notifications bar most of the time.

Performance comes through the 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The phone is available as a 3GB RAM model, with 32GB of internal storage, and a 4GB RAM model with 64GB of internal storage. The storage might seem low compared to flagship devices, but you can top up the phone with 1TB of storage using a microSD card. Prices for microSD cards are at an all-time low, so you can get a massive memory card for very little more. With the option for that kind of storage, you won’t ever run of space to install apps and games on, or to store photos, movies and music.
The rear of the phone houses all the cameras. There is a 13MP primary camera. It can click good photos, and it’s aided by two other cameras. There is a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth camera. The F/2.4 aperture of these cameras make it ideal for clicking photo in low light but also for clicking photos with that smooth, depth-of-field blur. The front-facing selfie camera has a 5MP sensor, and an F/2.2 aperture. The rear camera can shoot full HD videos at 30fps, more than enough for most purposes. The Camera app has all the smart bits to enable things like Live Focus, even a Macro mode and a Beauty mode. You won’t have to work your way around complex photo editing apps with this smartphone. Photos come ready to be shared on your favorite social media and messaging services.
There is a USB Type-C connector for charging and connecting to other devices. The Wi-Fi standard onboard is a modest 802.11n and it’s good enough for making video calls, streaming movies and more. We are glad to report the phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack so you won’t necessarily need to buy Bluetooth earphones or Type-C to 3.5mm adapters. You also get Android 10 as part of the package and the experience is enhanced with Samsung’s One UI suite.
Another area that this phone shines at is its battery capacity. There is a massive 5,000mAh battery onboard its massive shell. That along with the lower screen resolution and all the enhancements should give the phone a long-lasting battery life. You won’t have to charge your phone too often.

The Samsung Galaxy M02s is a modest phone that packs a decent punch. It’s just right and more than what you need to get work done, especially if you’re not playing the most cutting-edge games. You could if you wanted, tone down the settings a tad bit and do some gaming every now and then. There is nothing stopping you from binging TV shows and movies on the massive screen though. Both, the 3GB and 4GB models of the Samsung Galaxy M02s are now available on RelianceDigital.in. You could have it delivered to your doorstep in no time if you order now.
