Realme X7 – Bound to wow you!

Of all the smartphone price segments, there is a sweet spot where you get much better performance and features than the average budget smartphone and nearly all the features of a flagship device. That price bracket is around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000. Realme is no longer a newcomer to the enthusiast class of smartphones. One of their newest entrants to this bracket is the Realme X7. The phone is available in two memory configurations, and they are priced between Rs. 19,999* and Rs. 21,999*.
The Realme X7 is exciting for more than its great pricing. It runs a rather powerful 5G-capable chipset, called the Dimensity 800U. It’s created by MediaTek and in technical terms, it’s an 7nm octa-core processor clocked at a quick 2.4GHz. There is even Copper Liquid Cooling technology to keep temperatures in check while you game. This should mean great performance in apps, games as well as good battery efficiency. The processor is bundled with a Mali G57 graphics processor that should help in multimedia applications as well as with gaming. This might give you the edge needed to win in competitive online multiplayer games. Like we mentioned, you can buy this phone as a 6GB or 8GB variant. 5G may not be present right away but having the capability means you won’t have to upgrade when the technology goes mainstream. Both variants of the devices come with 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. That’s ample space for installing your favourite apps and games.

This is a 5G device and both the nano SIM card slots support it. It supports dual standby modes, so you won’t have to worry about messing around with settings as you go, like you had to, with early 4G smartphones. Other wireless connectivity options also see improvements. There is 802.11ac support which means you can download content quicker than you would older standards. You also get Bluetooth 5.1 for strong connectivity to earphones, speakers and other wireless peripherals.
We always look forward to the screen of our next smartphone purchase. It’s probably since a lot of improvements in the segment can be noticed there. The Realme X7 has a mighty impressive screen. For one, it’s 6.4 inches across, it’s a Samsung AMOLED display so you are assured of great contrast ratio and good colours saturation. What’s more, it’s an FHD+ display, running a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The resolution and colour characteristics make it excellent or gaming and watching content on. The density of the screen is just right so you can read a lot of text on it, without having to scroll all the time. Realme claims the touch response rate is set to 180Hz so your inputs are practically instantaneous.

The front of the phone is distraction-free. The front-facing camera is hidden behind a punch-hole on the left top of the screen. Even the fingerprint scanner is hidden into the screen and there are no signs of it. It’s useful and secure, since it helps unlock the phone in an instant, and pay payments as well. The rear of the phone also maintains a clean look, except for the camera area on the left-top corner.
It’s a not a large block like some other devices. There are three aligned cameras with a flash adjoining them. Style and aesthetics are not sacrificed with the Realme X7. The three cameras may be read as less than the four-camera setups of other smartphones, but they get the job done, and well. The primary camera uses a 64MP sensor. This is more than enough to upload photos on Instagram and other social media services. You could also print out photos from this camera on large surfaces. The 8MP camera uses an ultra wide-angle lens that helps capture wide areas that traditional lenses cannot. In fact, the lens has a 119-degree field-of-view. The last of the three cameras has a 4cm shooting distance, which makes it the ideal macro lens camera. This lens will find itself being used to capture closeups of tiny objects such as flowers and other miniature subjects.
The cameras are capable of more than capturing a few photographs. They can shoot videos at 4K at 30fps, which is an impressive feat for a phone at this price. You can also shoot slow motion videos at full HD at 120fps, or 720p at 240fps. This opens the possibility of slowing down footage as you like. The front-facing camera is a 16MP unit and it supports an aperture of f/2.5. It too shoots full HD videos at 30fps, and it can capture 120fps slow-motion footage as well. You can now also vlog and shoot videos without the help of a gimbal. The UIS Max Video Stabilization helps shoot stabilized videos with ease.

The camera app along with the cameras can render some dramatic shots, using features such as the Super Nightscape mode where near-darkness shots appear better illuminated. They are ideal if you’re travelling and want to capture landscapes or monuments through the evenings. Some of the other effects are the Modern Gold, Flamingo and Cyberpunk look, which work well in low-light situations as well. The front-facing cameras have features such as AI Beauty, Portrait Mode and more that are perfect for clicking great selfies. The HDR mode can help boost the saturation levels of photos clicked even with the front camera.
The Realme X7 is more than just another good-looking smartphone with brute performance. it has features that you might find handy in your day-to-day life. Take the 4,310mAh battery for instance. With a capacity that high, you won’t have to keep recharging it like your current smartphone. When it is time to do, the 50W SuperDart Charging feature helps top-up your phone’s battery in no time. In fact, Realme claims it can charge your phone to 50 per cent in just 18 minutes and on to 100 per cent in just 47 minutes. At times when you are in dire need of a charger but don’t have one, simply set the X7 to the Super Power Saving mode, and your phone will stay in standby for a good 25 hours!
In an age where smartphones are all trying to beat each other at the price game, aesthetics are often forgotten. That isn’t the case with the new Realme X7. One of the first things to get your attention is the choice of colour options with the Realme X7. The Space Silver is bold, minimalistic, smooth to the touch and futuristic, but it’s the other option, Nebula that will grab everyone’s attention. It’s hard to describe in words. It’s mirror-like and it’s designed using a dual-grain, double-coating process which creates all kinds of crazy refractions and reflections as you move the phone around.
