Realme has made budget smartphones since its inception in 2018. Realme is now attempting its first truly flagship smartphone – the X50 Pro 5G, available at a truly affordable price. The Realme X50 Pro is one of the most affordable 5G smartphones. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, and it uses the X55 modem to deliver 10 times faster download speeds than existing LTE devices. Large games and movies will download in no time, and you can even stream 4K content without any buffering. The phone also supports Wi-Fi 6, for strong wireless internet connectivity.

The Snapdragon 865 is Qualcomm’s upper-tier processor, seen on many premium devices. The processor reaches clock speeds up to 2.84 GHz and Realme says it delivers 25 per cent more performance than last year’s Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is also one of the first smartphones to use LPDDR5 RAM. Its entry-spec variant comes with 8GB of RAM while the top-spec comes with 12GB of RAM. The phone uses UFS 3.1 storage that load apps quickly, and it also improves power efficiency up to 30 per cent compared to UFS 2.1.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G sports the Adreno 650 GPU that can run high-end games such as Call Of Duty: Mobile, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Modern Combat 5, and Dead Trigger 2. Smartphones often get warm after extensive gaming, but this is unlikely with the X50 Pro 5G. The device uses Realme’s 5-way Vapour Cooling System to dissipate heat. Realme claims the new cooling system keeps the smartphone’s temperatures low and it ensures high performance all the time.

A faster refresh rate screen is a norm for today’s smartphones, and the Realme X50 Pro 5G complies to it. The phone’s 90Hz refresh rate screen makes scrolling through the app drawer, images and web pages fluid. You can also take advantage of the higher refresh rate while playing games such as Injustice 2, Riptide GP: Renegade, Shadowgun: Legends, and World of Tanks: Blitz. The device also supports 180Hz touch sampling rate, to improve the touch responsiveness and gaming experience.

The Realme X50 Pro’s 6.5-inch AMOLED display has tiny bezels. It has a punch-hole display design that allows it to have a large screen built into a small chassis. The display supports premium features such as HDR10+ that makes watching HDR content from Netflix and other streaming platforms, a lot of fun. The screen produces up to 1000nits of brightness, making it one of the brightest smartphone screens around. The screen has features such as Realme’s Eye Protection Mode that reduces the blue light radiation to reduce eye strain. It also supports Always-on feature, that makes checking the time, weather alerts and incoming notification easy.

The X50 Pro moves away from Realme’s traditional gradient and glossy look. The phone uses a frosted glass design, that looks simple and it also helps to keep fingerprints away. The device is available in Rust Red and Moss Green colours, and the back glass shifts colours as light falls on it. There is Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back, to protect the phone from scratches. The phone uses an aluminium frame to provide rigidity, and the rear panel has curved edges to offer a comfortable hold.

The rear of the phone houses Realme X50 Pro’s quad cameras. The primary 64MP camera uses Samsung’s GW1 sensor and an f/1.8 aperture lens. This camera supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and records 4K videos up to 60 fps. The secondary 12MP telephoto camera has an f/2.5 aperture, and it supports up to 5X hybrid zoom along with 20x digital zoom. The phone also has an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, that covers large areas for clicking groups of people and landscapes. There is also a 2MP depth camera too. The front cameras are a combination of 32MP and 8MP ultra-wide cameras, that lets you click clear and wide-angle selfies.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G runs Android 10 with Realme UI launcher on top. The UI offers a simple stock Android-like interface, and it also provides a few visual customisation options with icons and theme packs. Realme has also introduced a Smart Sidebar feature, that offers a range of configurable shortcuts to apps and settings. The UI also includes a dedicated Game Space that streamlines notifications for an uninterrupted gaming experience.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G features a Dual-Frequency GPS that makes navigation in apps such as Google Maps more accurate. The phone houses a 4,200 mAh battery and it ships with a 65W SuperDart charger, that promises charging from 0 to 100 per cent in just 35 minutes. The Realme X50 Pro 5G has solid specifications, and it can be a real challenger to flagship phones in the market. Priced at Rs. 34,999*, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is available at your nearest Reliance Digital stores, and you can also order it online from www.reliancedigital.in.
