Xiaomi is a brand known for making affordable gizmos. They are ramping up the appeal as a more premium brand. One of the first products driving this change is the all-new Mi 75-inch QLED TV. We have seen Xiaomi making affordable 32, 43 and even 55-inch TVs, but this one stands above all previous offerings. It is a gigantic 75-inch screen powered by the premium QLED tech. A 75-inch TV with a QLED panel for a price of Rs. 1,27,000* seems unreal, so are there any caveats?

A TV is typically the centrepiece of every home, and Xiaomi understands this well. The Mi QLED 75’s dark silver frame offers a 97 per cent screen-to-body ratio, allowing the TV to blend in with almost any home decor. The TV stand is also very different from what we have seen in the past. Mi’s usual side-mounted metal stand is now replaced with a centrally mounted one that looks premium and improves stability. Wall mounting the TV is also possible as it ships with a VESA mounting kit.

The port selection is also quite solid. It has two HDMI ports along with an HDMI 2.1 port with eARC support. This means you can have multiple input devices connected at once. You will also find two USB 2.0 ports that come in handy while connecting external drives. Xiaomi has also included an optical output that makes connecting a soundbar system easy. There is a composite input and an RF port for connecting older devices.

The TV has an Ethernet port and it also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac for wireless connectivity. Bluetooth 5.0 is also present, which means you can easily connect wireless headphones and speakers. All the ports are place towards the right of the TV, so you can access them even after wall mounting the device.

On to the picture quality, QLED TVs use a special transmissive quantum dot layer that helps to render more vibrant colours than traditional LED TVs. This technology also significantly improves the contrast levels, and thanks to the TV’s 192 local dimming zones, you will also experience uniform blacks. This 4K 75-inch TV (3,840 x 2,160) is also HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision compliant. It is perfect for watching HDR content from streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. It also uses Xiaomi’s Vivid Picture Engine that maintains colour balance and lets you have a natural-looking content watching experience.

This 4K panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Its large screen size and features like ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) take your gaming experience to a whole new level. The TV also supports MEMC, a feature that makes fast-paced scenes smoother. It will make your content experience more enjoyable, especially while watching action movies and sports events. Xiaomi says the TV produces up to 1,000 nits of brightness, so watching content in a brightly lit room won’t be an issue.

The Mi 75-inch QLED is an Android 10 TV that uses Xiaomi’s Patchwall interface. The UI is easy to use and it streamlines all your content and apps under one roof. It also seamlessly integrates DTH services with the interface. This eliminates the hassle of manually switching the input while watching live TV. The TV comes with all the major content streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5 and Sony Liv. The TV’s Smart Recommendations feature suggests content based on your content history. There is also a dedicated Kids Mode that shows age-appropriate content for kids.

Xiaomi says the TV’s A55 quad-core processor allows for a stutter-free UI experience. The TV has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device supports Google Assistant, so you can open apps and play content using just voice commands. You can even use Google Assistant to get answers, weather updates, set reminders and even find restaurants near you.

As the TV uses far-field mics, voice commands are processed even when you are far from the TV. The TV also supports Smart Hub functionality. This lets you control all your smart home devices such as IP cameras, air purifiers, robotic vacuum cleaners and air conditioners from your TV.

The Mi 75-inch QLED TV also offers a superior audio experience. It has a 30W stereo speaker setup that includes two full-range drivers, two woofers and tweeters. Xiaomi says the speaker’s frequency ranges from as low as 60 Hz to 20 kHz, allowing you to have a rich and detailed audio experience. These speakers also support Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD.

QLED TVs, especially 75-inch models, are priced over a lac and a half. However, the Mi 75-inch QLED TV is way more accessible than the competition. It makes no compromises as you get everything from an elegant design to a great viewing experience with a friendly user interface. The TV is now available at www.reliancedigital.in. You can also experience its superior picture quality by visiting your nearest Reliance Digital store.
