Follow the step-by-step guide to convert your old iPhone into a VoLTE enabled smartphone.
Step 1: Insert the Jio SIM into your phone
Make sure you insert the Jio SIM card into your iPhone. In most cases, your iPhone will show a ‘No Service’ alert in the status bar. No need to worry, as this problem can be easily solved in the further steps.
Step 2: Turn on LTE on your iPhone
To turn on LTE, go to Settings > Mobile Data. If Mobile Data is turned-off on your phone, turn it on. Once the Mobile Data is turned on, enter Mobile Data Options menu which will have Voice & Data tab. Select LTE by accessing this menu.
Step 3: Restart your iPhone
Once the iPhone is restarted you’ll be able to see your iPhone on the Jio 4G LTE network. Congrats! Your iPhone has just entered India’s fastest 4G LTE network.
Step 4: Enabling voice calls on your iPhone using the Jio4GVoice app
Though you can now access the internet through Jio 4G LTE network, making voice calls from the iPhone dialer is not possible due to lack of VoLTE support. This problem can be solved by downloading the Jio4GVoice app which is available on the App Store.
Once downloaded, open the app which then automatically configures all the settings essential for making or receiving voice calls. You can also send or receive text messages through this app.
To use calling or text message services, keep in mind that the app needs to run in the background. You can still continue using other apps on your phone.
