Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite – No reason to not own one

Most of us have wanted to own a good smart, streaming device like the Amazon Fire TV Stick, but we probably waited. The good news is that there is a new model and it’s called the Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite. As the name suggests, it lacks some features of the original, but the price is now, an astonishing Rs. 2,099. That’s like the price of a large battery pack or a pair of decent earphones, except the Fire TV Stick Lite can so much more. It brings an entire smart TV experience to the plain ‘ol television, a computer monitor or even a projector. A few things are missing but the question you ought to ask is, will that affect many of us?

The Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite is a great product like the original. It lets you do a whole bunch of things from using voice commands to handle home automation, to streaming premium content over the web. There are quite a few TV channels moving to the online medium so you can slowly see the transition from traditional set-top boxes to internet-connected streaming devices. Also, with the lockdown in effect for the most part of the year, a small investment in the Amazon Fire TV Lite can easily entertain your family.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite is very easy to set up. It comes with all the adapters and attachments you need, and you won’t have to go out to your local store to buy anything. The box comes with the batteries for the remote, the power adapter, the cable, even an HDMI extender dongle and of course, the Fire TV Lite itself. The installation takes a minute or so, at most. All you need to do is connect the adapter to the back of the Fire TV Lite and plug the device into an empty HDMI port on your TV, monitor or projector. The HDMI extender cable is handy if your TV is wall-mounted, but has ports at the back but there isn’t room to plug the device in. The extended cable is flexible, and it lets you hide the Fire TV Lite very neatly behind the TV. Once that’s done, simply power the device on and log into your Amazon account. You’re on your way!
You are welcomed with the home screen that displays all the popular content being streamed online right now. It includes content across different providers. You can choose to access any one of the features which could be part of the Amazon Prime experience or any other third-party services such as Netflix, for example. There are many more local ones included such as YouTube, Disney+, Zee 5, Voot, SonyLIV, etc. The list keeps growing all the time. There are also third-party music services such as Amazon Music and Gaana that you can listen to. There is practically, unlimited amounts of movies, TVs and music to experience.
There is also live TV where you can watch quite a few channels. Now, you can watch live TV shows and news as they happen, so you may not need your setup box around for a lot longer. Apps like YouTube are particularly fun to watch, since you can queue up videos from your smartphone to be played on the Fire TV without having to mirror your phone screen. If you do want to work from your laptop on your large screen TV, you can do that too. Mobile screen mirroring is also possible. The Amazon Fire TV Lite shows up as a wireless display.
It has all the other features you need. It supports Bluetooth so you can connect wireless speakers, headphones or even game controllers to it. There are a few games available on the app store to try out. There is support for HDR standards, as well as audio support for Dolby Digital Dolby Atmos and more. The Wi-Fi connection on board is 802.11ac and it should let you stream full HD content without any issues. Keep in mind, a good internet connection is important to be able to stream high resolution content.
A large part of the Fire TV experience is that it supports Alexa, which means you can use it like a smart speaker, to control different aspects of your smart home. For example, you can view cameras around your home, or use it to stream your favorite TV show or music, using no more than your voice. The Fire TV Lite is even easy on environment. The product, even the packaging is largely made out of recycled materials.

So, what don’t you get with the Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite? The model does not include the option to power on and off your TV using voice commands and the remote it’s slightly different from the original. You cannot mute or adjust the volume on your TV using the remote, rather you’ll need to move to your TV remote for it. This is a minor inconvenience, considering everything it does well, and how little it costs.

One of the nicest things about the Fire TV Stick Lite is how easy it is to start and use. You could get done with your entire day of work and have it running in moments and continue watching your favorite movie or TV show without having to fumble with complicated keyboards and menus and pesky web site logins. This kind of intuitiveness is handy, especially for younger audiences as well as the elderly. It truly brings entertainment to your fingertips.
