For a long time, mid-range smartphones were considered as everyday usage phones. Users expected decent hardware and a good battery life to get the job done. However, times have changed and, and smartphones are more appealing than ever before, thanks to availability of features and designs once seen only on flagship-grade features. While flagship phones get expensive, mid-range phones seem to get more affordable. This is a trend with prominent brands. However, compromises in build quality take away the premium feel.

The Vivo V25 is a well-built premium mid-range device. It uses a Fluorite AG glass at the rear for durability. The glass can easily take on minor bumps and scratches. Vivo has also gone for a textured finish to keep fingerprints and smudges away. The camera bump is also minimal, giving an overall premium look.

With durability, this glass also offers a colour-changing design, a feature of Vivo’s premium offerings. This instantly distinguishes the Vivo V25 from other mid-range devices. The device is available in two shades. Surfing Blue offer a brighter shade, while the Elegant Black variant would please users who want darker tones. The phone offers 7.79 mm of thinness and weighs 186 grams. Despite its slim chassis, the V25 packs in a massive 4,100 mAh battery. The phone ships with a 44W fast charger that claims 0 to 61 per cent charge in just 30 minutes.

The Vivo V25 comes with an impressive 6.4-inch AMOLED display. This full HD display allows you to adjust the colour temperature for a more personalized content-watching experience. Since it uses an AMOLED panel, colours are accurate with rich contrast and deep blacks. The panel also supports HDR, for watching HDR content from platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The display supports 1,300 nits of peak brightness, which should come in handy outdoors while watching content in broad daylight.

The Vivo V25 90 Hz refresh rate display also makes it an ideal phone for gamers. This is a must-have feature these days as most modern games support it. A faster refresh rate display also results in an overall smooth UI experience as you scroll though content, browse the web, or even scroll around the app drawer. The screen also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner which can be used to unlock the device. Additionally, there is also support for the Always On display feature, so notifications are available at a glance, without unlocking the device.

Cameras have always been one of the unique features of Vivo phones, and the V25 is no different. The phone comes with a triple camera configuration, a primary 64 MP camera, a secondary 8 MP camera and a third 2 MP macro lens. The primary camera offers an f/1.8 aperture and supports the Night Mode feature for better low-light photography. This camera also supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), a feature missing on this phone’s predecessor, the Vivo V23. OIS will help users to shoot shake-free photos and videos.

The secondary ultra-wide camera offers a 120-degree field-of-view and is best for landscape photography. The front-facing camera is also equally impressive. It’s a 50MP unit offering a wide FOV and premium features like HDR. Both the front and rear cameras support up to 4K video recording at 30 fps.

The Vivo V25 also packs in powerful hardware for smooth performance. It comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 CPU, a 6nm processor that can handle everyday apps while but with focus on power efficiency. The CPU can also handle games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Minecraft and Genshin Impact. The device is available in two configurations. The base variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The top-tier variant has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 12 and uses Vivo’s custom Funtouch OS 12. The OS introduces a new UI design for a refreshing and cleaner visual experience. Vivo has also introduced smaller-sized widgets so users can quickly access apps and information without compromising too much screen space.
