Finally we got rid of the old refrigerator, guys! Aman sent a message on his WhatsApp group – 3 idiots. Finally! Immediately came a reply from Punit. Send us a pic yaar responded Akshay. Sure bro, Aman replied with a smile and sent a pic to his friends. Looks good bro Akshay commented. Yes Aman, next time we will finally manage to slurp some chilled refreshing cold drinks while watching the match. Ya, Aman promptly replied. Scrolling through the conversation Aman recalled the entire incident that happened few days back.
“Get something to eat too” Punit added. “Get up and take what you like to munch on Punit” Aman responded. “Aarey yaar…” sounding lethargic. Aman and Akshay gave a cold stare to Punit. “Fine! I will get it” Punit said. “Good! Get the cold drink as well” Aman said as he and Akshay grinnedand high fived each other as they pulled Punit’s leg.Aman’s thoughts were interrupted when he overheard his mother talking on the phone as she approached his room “I am so glad that we finally bought a new refrigerator now, there is no cooling issue, no leakage!” His mother offered him a glass of chilled cold drink. Aman smiled on seeing it and, as he took a sip of the cold drink he remembered Punit’s reaction when he entered the kitchen. “Aman! Come here yaar…” Punit yelled from the kitchen “what happened?” Aman asked as he got up and went inside towards the kitchen. “You sure you refrigerated the cold drink couple of hours back?” “Yeah, why?” Aman asked sounding a little confused.“It’s not chilled yet” Punit remarked. Looking a little confused Aman checked the bottle and said, “How’s that possible yaar? I had kept it inside the refrigerator immediately as I brought it couple of hours back.”
After pondering on it for few minutes Punit said, “There must be some issue in the refrigerator then” Meanwhile…“Guys! 2nd Innings had started come fast Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis are opening for CSK!” Akshay called out to Aman and Punit. “Coming bro!” Punit responded. “There was some cooling issue but as far as I remember mom had called the technician and got it fixed” Aman said as he reminisced over the issue while staring the refrigerator. “I think you must suggest your parents to consider buying a new refrigerator Aman” Punit proposed. Agreeing with Punit, Aman said, “ Ya, in fact when this issue began that time itself I suggested my parents to change the refrigerator but, they were always reluctant and preferred repairing it every time.” “Brilliant catch! Akshay excitedly commented and was irritated as Punit and Aman were still inside “Arrey what are you guys doing yaar and where is the cold drink? When he got no response he stomped towards the kitchen. “Do you people how exciting this match is? You people are missing out on all the fun.” He realized something was amiss when he saw Aman and Punit a little disturbed. “What happened Punit, are you upset that CSK lost 1 wicket?” Akshay teasingly said, “What! Who went?” Punit enquired shockingly. “Faf du Plessis, he went to strike a six but ended up getting out by Sandeep. “What’s the score dude?” Punit asked “16 for 1 in 4 overs” Akshay replied. “Ah! CSK will easily pull it off” Punit confidently said. “But, how are we to enjoy the match now without the cold drink it won’t be fun?” Aman said looking distressed. Suddenly Punit in an ecstatic tone yelled “Raina is playing now it’s going to be fun” On hearing this Akshay sounding a little defensive said, “We shall see” He further looked curiously at Aman and enquired, “Bro, what’s wrong with Aman?”
Punit narrated the entire episode to Akshay who assumed that maybe budget is the reason for Aman’s parent’s reluctance. Akshay explained Aman the need for him to pester his parents to change the refrigerator. “Dude, this refrigerator looks pretty old. I doubt there are any parts of this model available as well in the market. Why don’t you ask your parents to look out for some budget refrigerators online? They will find the appropriate refrigerator with good BEE ratings that would save electricity as well unlike this one” Aman heard Akshay’s advice and decided to suggest the same to his parents. “Fine, once they are back I will talk to them.” Aman replied.
They heard the commentator praise Watson as he had scored a 50! “Wow! Guys, now can we sip on this not-so-cold drink and see the match? Raina and Watson’s partnership looks great! I don’t want to miss it at any cost!” Punit said sounding all excited. Looking at both of them Aman in a timid tone said, “But then what about the cold drink it’s not chilled?” “We will enjoy a chilled glass of cold drink the next time for sure and by then probably your parents would get a new refrigerator” Akshay said. They laughed and agreed to Akshay’s statement and continued to watch the match as they sipped on the not-so-chilled cold drink.
Later that evening when Aman’s parents returned back home he spoke to them and narrated the entire incident. On hearing it they finally decided to get rid of the old refrigerator and, considered implementing Aman’s advice of taking the help of Internet. And after few days Aman’s parent’s finally got a new refrigerator at home.
