Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – For the Galaxy fans

Last year’s Galaxy S20 FE used a simple formula – a flagship phone made affordable. It was an instant hit and was well received by fans. Following its success, Samsung now introduces the all-new S21 FE, promising to surpass all expectations. It looks identical to its expensive S21 siblings and manages to offer nearly the same hardware, at an affordable price. Is it as perfect as its elder siblings or are there any caveats? Let’s find out.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with a 6.4-inch display, which is bigger than the S21’s 6.2-inch screen. This device can be a sweet spot for those who want a slightly big screen that is not as large as the S21’s Plus 6.7-inch one. Like the expensive S21 phones, the Galaxy S21 FE also offers Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED display technology for a top-notch picture experience. Samsung says the panel delivers a deep 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio for deep blacks and highlights. It also meets 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour space for the perfect colour reproduction. Additionally, the display also supports HDR 10+ for enjoying HDR-compatible content.

This full HD display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. The phone also has a dedicated Game Mode that bumps the touch response rate to 240Hz. This can come in handy while playing intense online games. The Dynamic AMOLED technology also reduces the harmful blue light emitted from the display for lessening eye strain and sleep disturbances.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE also makes no compromises in the performance department. It runs the Exynos 2100 CPU, the one used in the more expensive S21 devices. This means you can expect the same lag-free experience. The CPU can also smoothly handle high-end games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Fortnite, Battlegrounds India and Asphalt 9: Airborne. The base variant of the S21 FE comes with 6 GB of RAM, while the high-end one has 8 GB of RAM. This makes switching back and forth between apps effortless.

The Galaxy S21 FE is a dual SIM 5G device. It comes with all the latest connectivity standards like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The device also has NFC for quick payments and pairing NFC-enabled devices. It ships with Samsung’s latest OneUI 4.0 on top of Android 12. The UI has been polished to offer a stock Android look and feel. It also introduces tons of new privacy-centric features to safeguard your personal information.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has a 12 MP primary camera, offering an f/1.8 aperture. Samsung says it uses a Dual Focus technology, allowing the camera to accurately focus on fast-moving objects. This camera also supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and can record 4K videos up to 60 fps. It can be a perfect tool for aspiring vloggers or Youtubers who want to record 4K videos on a budget. The secondary camera is an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom, allowing you to focus on distant objects.

There is another 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera offering a 123-degree field of view. This camera is perfect for clicking landscapes. It also supports Samsung’s Night Mode feature for low-light nightscapes and night timelapses. The 32 MP front camera is also equally impressive. Its f/2.2 aperture Samsung says, can click clear selfies even in low light. This wide-angle camera can also record 4K 60 fps videos.

The S21 FE looks as premium as its elder siblings. It uses the same curved edged frame to offer a comfortable grip. Despite its bigger screen, the device is as slim as its elder S21 siblings. Samsung has also managed to reduce the rear camera bump. It blends neatly with the frame, offering a much cleaner look. The phone comes in four shades – Olive, Graphite, Lavender and White.

Samsung has taken care of durability too. The phone comes with an IP68 rating which makes it dust and waterproof. This means you can use the phone in the rain without any worries. The front uses the Gorilla Glass Victus for protection against accidental scratches and bumps.

The phone has a 4,500 mAh battery that promises up to 16 hours of video playback. It supports 25 W fast charging to reduce charging times. The phone can also be charged wirelessly using a 15 W wireless charger. There is also support for reverse wireless charging, a feature that comes in handy for charging wireless earbuds.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE offers pretty much everything from its expensive S21 siblings but at an affordable price. It is a solid device for those who want looks and performance of high-end Galaxy devices but at an affordable price. The phone will be soon available for pre-order at www.reliancedigital.in.
