Realme has been a strong player in the mid-range segment since its inception. It has been one of only a few Android smartphone makers consistently working on offering flagship-grade specs devices at affordable prices. Their newest Realme 10 Pro+ 5G claims to surpass all boundaries by offering one of 2022’s latest high-end CPUs with a solid camera and battery performance. This phone also brings a curved display. Branded as a near-flagship phone, can the 10 Pro+ 5G take on the competition?

The 10 Pro+ is one of the first Realme devices to sport curved edges at the front and back. The design looks premium and helps the phone look thin, which is rare in this segment. The phone is lightweight too and comes with curved corners, so it’s easy to hold. The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G is available in three shades. The Hyper Space and Nebula Blue variants have a glittery shade, and they shift colours depending on the ambient lighting. The Dark Matter colour is subtle and is more suitable for those who prefer solid colours.

The front of the device comes with 0.65mm Double-Reinforced Glass. Realme says this glass has been rigorously tested and protects the screen from scratches. The screen has incredibly thin bezels across all sides, which instantly helps the 10 Pro+ stand out. The rear panel uses plastic, which means it won’t crack in case of accidental falls. The front and rear are connected by a metallic frame, which further improves the overall durability.

Another outstanding feature of this phone is its large 6.7-inch display. It uses an AMOLED panel, offering a full HD resolution. This OLED display comes with 100 per cent DCI-P3 certification and supports 10-bit colours. This means a great for those who value accurate colours. It should mean a more immersive and enjoyable content viewing experience. The display now also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, making the device ideal for mobile gamers. A higher refresh rate screen not only benefits gamers but also makes the overall UI a lot smoother. You can also enjoy HDR content on supported platforms, thanks to the device’s HDR10+ support.

Gamers will also appreciate the displays’ 1260 Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring accurate touch responses. The phone also supports Realme’s fourth-gen X-touch Anti-Mistouch Algorithm that understands the way you hold your phone, ensuring you get a response only when you want. Realme has also added 2160 Hz PWM technology to the display, which accurately adjusts the brightness in low-light environments. The 10 Pro+ 5G also come with TUV Rheinland Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light Certificate, for an added layer of eye protection.

The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G also comes with best-in-class hardware. It runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 CPU, a 6 nm processor offering speeds up to 2.6 GHz. This is one of the newest MediaTek CPUs, claiming to deliver flagship-grade performance while balancing power. It can easily run high-end apps and games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Minecraft, and Asphalt 9: Airborne in the highest graphics settings. The 10 Pro+ is available in two configurations. The base variant comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128GB storage, while the top-tier model has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. Both models support an additional 8 GB Dynamic RAM feature, which should come in handy while heavy multitasking and gaming.

The 10 Pro+ is a dual-SIM 5G device with the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. There is also Bluetooth 5.2 with support for A2DP, LE, and aptX HD for a seamless wireless audio connection. The Realme 10 Pro+ also promises a solid battery life with its 5,000 mAH battery. The device includes an 80W SUPERVOOC charger and claims 0 to 50 per cent charge in just 17 minutes.

The device runs on the latest Android 13 OS and uses Realme’s updated UI 4.0 Realme says it brings enhanced performance, seamless animations, and greater privacy protection. It introduces a new card-like layout with simple icons and even Dynamic Widgets for a more fun UI experience. The new UI also supports Spatial Audio, for a more immersive audio-listening experience with supported wireless earbuds.

The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G has a solid set of cameras. Its primary 108 MP camera uses Samsung HM6 sensor and offers an f/1.8 aperture. This sensor was previously used in many of Realme’s flagship devices and has a reputation for rendering detailed images with natural colours. This camera supports a range of modes including Super Group Portrait, Super Nightscape and Starry Mode for capturing stars at night. The phone can record videos up to 4K at 30fps.

The secondary 8 MP camera uses a Sony IMX 355 sensor offering a 112-degree wide field of view. It’s a perfect camera for capturing landscapes and wide-angle shots of large groups of people. The third 2 MP macro camera can focus on subjects from as close as 4 cm. For selfies, the device comes with a 16 MP camera, which is also capable of recording full HD videos.

The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G gains the top spot among mid-range smartphones. It comes at an attractive price of Rs. 23,999* while offering top-tier performance and a design that is hard to match in this segment. The phone’s strong battery life and solid set of cameras are also noteworthy, making the device an absolute all-rounder.
