The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is an absolute mammoth of a performer. It comes with the Ryzen 7 5800H processor clocked with a maximum speed of up to 4.4GHz. It is among the most powerful and power-efficient processors in the laptop space. The laptop’s true gaming nature is unleashed by its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. It bundles 6 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory that is enough for most games. It can easily handle AAA titles Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village and even upcoming ones like Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The laptop comes with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM for smooth multitasking. Having this amount of RAM also significantly speeds up photo and video rendering tasks. The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro has one of the best displays in a gaming laptop. It is a 16-inch panel that fits in a 15.6-inch frame, all thanks to its narrow bezels. The screen’s 16:10 aspect ratio offers 10 per cent more vertical space than traditional 16:9 screens. The extra space lets you arrange more windows side-by-side without scrolling or resizing windows.

Gamers will also appreciate the Legion 5 Pro’s QHD (2560 x 1600) screen and its 165Hz refresh rate. It supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD Free Freesync for a smooth gaming experience. Lenovo says the display’s matte finish eliminates reflections, and its 500nits brightness ensures easy readability even in bright daylight.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro offers excellent build quality. The exterior is made of aluminium, while the palm rest area uses plastic to keep the surface temperature low. The laptop has a straight-forward design with minimal edges and curves. There is a large illuminated Legion logo on the lid and you can choose the laptop in Strom Grey and Stingray White colours.

The laptop is equipped with the Legion Coldfront 3.0 technology that is meant to keep its internals cool. The technology is said to have a quad-channel exhaust system that works along with large dual fans to dissipate hot air. You can tinker with different thermal models using the Lenovo Vantage app. The app also shows you CPU, GPU and RAM performance along with remaining storage space. You can also use the app to perform hardware scans and updates drivers.

There are plenty of ports on this laptop. The left comes with a USB Type-C port, while the other side has a single USB-A port. There is also a tiny switch that physically disabled the webcam when not in use. You get three additional USB-A ports, a Type-C port that supports charging, an HDMI 2.1 port and an Ethernet port at the back of the laptop. The rear placement allows to have better cable management and this layout offers more space to use an external mouse.

The Legion 5 Pro features Lenovo’s TrueStrike keyboard that offers four-zone programmable backlighting. The keys have a concave curvature to them, and they offer a 1.5mm travel for a comfortable gaming experience. The keyboard also features a complete numerical pad that comes handy while using number-crunching apps like Microsoft Excel. Lenovo says the trackpad is also 23 per cent bigger than older Legion laptops. It offers a smooth surface so you can easily glide your finger over it.
