Not all ultra-portable laptops are designed for performance workloads, and the Dell XPS devices are some of them. Their simplistic yet stylish design, best-in-class display, and hardware have made them the power user’s preferred choice for years now. Dell is now taking the XPS legacy ahead with the all-new XPS 13 Plus. The new laptop is different from what we have seen so far. It introduces Dell’s new minimal, yet futuristic-design backed by 2022’s best hardware for top-notch performance. It seems to have everything to take on the mightiest of ultrabooks.

The design is undoubtedly the most striking feature of the new XPS 13 Plus. It’s a super-slim laptop that weighs only 1.23 kg. It is sturdy, thanks to its strong aluminium chassis. Dell says the XPS 13 Plus is the first laptop to use low-carbon aluminium. It also ships with an all-new 100 per cent recycled packaging, making the overall offering eco-friendly. The laptop has a clean and smooth design. Its display lid has a centred XPS logo giving the device its premium character. The entire chassis is matte-finished which helps reduce fingerprints. The bottom edges of the laptop has four audio speakers. They support the Dolby Atmos standard, promising exceptional rich, clear and loud sound quality. The laptop is available in Platinum colour.

Another key design element of this device is its zero-lattice keyboard. This edge-to-edge keyboard design is unlike any other. It allows for large keys for a fast, efficient and comfortable typing experience. Dell has also added a touch function row for quickly accessing a set of controls. The trackpad is also unique. It has a border-free design giving the device a futuristic look. It offers a large touch area which makes going through large spreadsheets easy. It also provides haptic feedback, making the overall experience more responsive.

The laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 ports that deliver fast data transfer speeds. You can also use these ports to charge the device and connect external displays. Dell also includes a couple of dongles in the box. There is a USB-C to USB-A dongle for connecting storage devices and peripherals like an external keyboard or a printer. You will also find a Type-C to 3.5mm adaptor for wired headphones. The laptop sports an HD camera supporting a Dual Sensor technology that helps in clarity, even in poorly light areas. The XP13 Plus also supports Dell’s ExpressSign-in feature to streamline your sign-in experience.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus’s screen is spectacular. This 13-inch OLED display renders rich colours with deep black levels. It supports an outstanding 100 per cent sRGB colour accuracy, making the device ideal for colour correction work. This display offers a 4K resolution with a 16:10 screen aspect ratio. It supports 400 nits of brightness, which means you can enjoy watching content even in the brightest of room settings. The Dolby Vision support further enhances the colours for an immersive multimedia experience. Since there is support for touch input, accessing settings and apps on this device is straightforward. For users preferring non-touchscreen laptops, the full HD variant of the XPS 13 Plus laptop may be an ideal option.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus comes with the 12th generation Intel Core i7-1260P CPU. This is a 12-core processor with 15 threads, translating into a peak performance of 4.70 GHz. This makes the XPS 13 Plus one of the most powerful ultrabook laptops of 2022. It can handle massive Excel files easily and continuous web browsing along with apps like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. The device has 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and it comes with a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD. There is also an entry-range variant of the XPS 13 Plus with the Intel Core i5-1230U CPU and 512 GB of SSD storage. Both models come with Intel Xe Integrated graphics, powerful enough for running basic games.

Dell says the device sports two fans that offer 55 per cent more airflow than standard XPS models. This allows the laptop to maintain its optimal performance for long durations, while keeping temperature down as well as the noise. The laptop comes with the Dell Performance application that lets you select between four cooling mode – Quiet, Ultra-Performance, Cool and Optimised. Dell says the Optimised mode provides the best balance of power and battery performance. The Dell XPS 13 Plus ships with the latest Windows 11 OS.

The laptop comes with a 55 Wh battery and ships with a 60 W charger. With the ExpressCharge technology, Dell says the device can charge from 0 to 80 per cent in under an hour. The OLED variant claims up to 7 hours of battery life, while the full HD variant offers up to 13 hours of battery performance.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus offers powerful performance on an unbelievably slim and light form factor. It equips the best hardware of 2022, capable of smoothly handling heavy workloads. Its display is also best-in-the-class, with the added advantage of a touch screen. The laptop’s premium design is unmatchable and stands out in the crowd. The entry-range variant of the XPS 13 Plus is priced at Rs. 1,71,990*, while the top-end model comes in at Rs. 1,89,990*.
