The battle between premium noise-cancelling headphones has predominantly been between two brands. Bose is one of them, and their QuietComfort series headphones have been fighting at the forefront for more than a decade. Nearly three years on since the last major launch, Bose is offering an upgrade in the form of the QuietComfort 45 headphones. With new-age noise-cancelling tech, upgraded drivers and smart features, Bose aims to take back the best ANC headphones crown.

The Bose QuietComfort 45 are sleek and compact like their predecessor. They weigh only 235 grams, so you can wear them for hours without feeling their weight. The headphones use faux-leatherette earpads to improve breathability and limit moisture build-up. The headband is also made of a new nylon-based, glass-filled material. Bose says this helps the band to retain its shape in the long run and also protects from damaging headphones from accidental falls.

Each pivot point is built with a cast-metal hinge to make the headphones durable. The headphone swivels inward, so you can fit them in the bundled carrying case. The QuietComfort 45 headsets offer a metallic finish, and they are available in Black and White Smoke colours.

For controlling playback, Bose has equipped the QuietComfort 45 with several tactile buttons. On the right, you can find the volume up and down buttons, along with a button for playing and pausing music. You can also summon your phone’s built-in assistant by holding this play/pause button. The left has a button for activating the new Aware Mode feature. The device also has a 3.5mm auxiliary jack, so you can listen to music even if the battery runs out of charge.

The QuietComfort 45 comes with Bose’s next-generation Acoustic Noise Cancellation technology. The headphones use four microphones to block the ambient sound, and deliver a distraction-free music and podcast listening experience. They support three levels of noise cancellation – Low, Medium and High. Bose has also introduced a new Aware Mode that lets in some of the ambient noise, so you can hear everything around you at a balanced volume. This mode also lets you talk with people around you without taking off the headphones.

The headset deliver a top-notch audio quality with balanced highs, mids, and lows. They support an Active EQ feature to maintain audio clarity regardless of the volume. Bass performance is also said to be improved, making the headphones perfect for every music genre. The voice and video calling experience has also been improved. Bose says, with the addition of a fourth microphone, the QC45 accurately detects your voice while blocking out environmental sounds.

The Bose QuietComfort 45 come with Bluetooth 5.1, a major upgrade over the previous generation Bluetooth 4.1 standard. The new headsets support SBC and AAC codecs, making them compatible with most phones, tablets, and computers. They also support a Multipoint feature that lets the headphones connect to two devices at once. This means you can switch from listening to music on your tablet to taking a call on your phone hands-free. This feature can come in very handy, especially in working environments.

The QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones work alongside the Bose Connect app, giving you access to key features like Auto-off Timer and control over noise cancellation settings. It also lets you manage Bluetooth connections. Bose has also introduced a Music Share feature that lets you two pair two Bose wireless headphones to a single device. You can also connect the QC45 headsets to Bose soundbars using the Bose SimpleLink feature.

The Bose QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones have class-leading battery life. Bose says the headsets deliver up to 24 hours of music playback on a single charge. This means you can enjoy distraction-free music listening time even on the longest flights to the other side of the world. The headphones charge using USB Type-C, which means you can even charge them with your smartphone’s charger. Bose says they take nearly two and a half hours to charge fully, and 15 minutes of charge allows for 3 hours of playtime.

The Bose QuietComfort 45 is a solid upgrade over the brand’s 2019 flagship model. These headphones offer a significantly improved noise cancellation, allowing you to have a completely distraction-free music listening experience. They are now even more comfortable to wear, and their upgraded audio performance makes them a clear winner against their rivals. The headphones are priced at Rs. 32,900*, and they are available at www.reliancedigital.in.
