Vivo V27 Pro – Combining pro-ness in one package

The Vivo V series line-up is a fascinating one. Vivo introduced the V27 a few months back, a solid mid-ranger with great specs and an unbelievably low price tag. Then came the V27e, a toned-down version of the standard V27 for entry-range users. Vivo is now completing this series with the V27 Pro, a phone aimed at users who want the whole deal. The Vivo V27 Pro should a great deal better than the Vivo V25 Pro. It comes with a flagship-grade camera kit and a CPU that is rare in this range. Surprisingly, the phone has gotten a bigger display, yet it is Vivo’s slimmest phone ever.

The Vivo V27 Pro is a well-designed phone with a colour-shifting back panel. The paint reacts to UV light and turns into a darker shade of blue, a process that seems like magic. This feature is worth flaunting and distinguishes the device from other mid-rangers. Like flagship devices, the phone comes with glass, both at the front and the back. The frame also has glossy edges and is flat on top and at the bottom. It is 7.4mm thin and weighs about 182 grams.

The phone has curved edges, which neatly blend in with the device’s curved display. While aesthetically pleasing, it also improves the grip. Vivo is offering the V27 Pro in two colours – the Magic Blue colour is a brighter shade and the one which changes colour when exposed to light. Vivo says this variant has a special fingerprint-resistant coating which helps maintain its clean look. If you aren’t fond of this design, the Noble Black version with a subtle finish may be an better choice.

With its good design, the phone also brings in an impressive display. It’s a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel supporting DCI-P3 in the Standard Display setting. There are additional Pro and Bright display settings for finding a suitable colour temperature. This full HD AMOLED panel also has HDR10+ certification with Widevine L1 support. The display also comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This will benefit gaming and make the overall UI experience snappier than standard 60 Hz phones.

Performance on mid-range phones has sky-rocketed, and the Vivo V27 Pro is a perfect example of it. The device runs the latest MediaTek 8200 chipset which has been designed to deliver flagship-grade performance on lower-priced devices. This CPU offers enough performance to run high-end apps smoothly. Vivo says that, with the Game Boost feature, the CPU unleashes its 3.1GH performance, so you play games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Genshin Impact, Minecraft and Asphalt 9: Airborne at the best possible settings. Since the display supports higher refresh rates, you can experience smooth high FPS gaming with this device.

The phone runs on Android 13 and uses Vivo’s FunTouch 12 OS. The base model comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. For more performance, there is a 12 GB RAM device with 256 GB of internal storage. Both variants use UFS 3.1 storage, making transferring large data possible in a matter of a few seconds. The phone also supports Vivo’s Extended RAM feature. With this, the 8 GB RAM edition claims to support 27 active apps while the 12 GB model claims to handle 36 active apps in the background.

The phone comes with a 4,600 mAh battery which should provide enough power for a day and more. The phone ships with a 66W FlashCharger which claims 1 to 100 per cent charge in just 19 minutes. The phone is also rich on the connectivity front. It is a dual SIM 5G device with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. There is also the new Bluetooth 5.3 standard with support for A2DP and LE codecs. This means you can expect a solid wireless audio experience.

The V27 Pro justifies its pro tag with its solid set of cameras. The primary 50 MP camera uses a Sony IMX766V sensor promising brighter and clearer night shots. The V27 Pro is one of the first devices to get this latest Sony sensor, and you can expect great colour-accurate images. This camera has an OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) system for shake-free videos. Vivo says the stabilisation also works while capturing night videos. The V27 Pro also comes with a unique ring-like flash for bright low-light shots and better night-time photography.

For wide-angle shots, the phone comes with an 8 MP secondary camera with a 120-degree FOV. There is also a 2 MP camera for close-up shots. The device has a 50 MP camera for selfies. It can record 4K videos up to 60 fps, making this phone ideal for vloggers.

The Vivo V27 Pro ticks all the checkboxes that make a flagship device, except for the price tag. The phone’s slim and lightweight styling undoubtedly makes it one of the most impressive-looking premium mid-range smartphones. This style is also backed up by powerful performance and camera setup, which are often placed right on top in power users’ priorities. The device is priced at Rs. 39,999* and is now available for pre-order at www.reliancedigital.in. For more information, feel free to visit your nearest Reliance Digital store.
