It features Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro technology and supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which is higher than even some of the more premium-priced QLED and OLED TVs. The TV runs on Samsung’s most powerful Neo Quantum Processor 4K, which with deep learning claims to create the most precise and adaptive experience. The processor powers scene-by-scene optimization and upscales content to 4K with minimal quality loss. The CPU also powers the new Real Depth Enhancer feature which analyses the picture and increases the colour depth for a better content-watching experience.

The CPU also powers the Tizen OS on Series 9 TVs. This is Samsung’s own OS which has now been completely re-designed for a smooth, smart TV experience. Its UI is simple and clean, making accessing settings and content easy. Samsung says that all the major streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar along with regional services like Zee5 and Voot are bundled. There is also an in-built app store for downloading more apps.

The TV also comes with a Samsung Smart Hub feature which helps discover content in one place. This means you can now spend less time searching for content and spend more on watching it. The TV supports Amazon Alexa, Bixby and Google Assistant support, so you control your TV using just voice commands. The TV also comes pre-installed with Google Duo, so you can attend video calls on a bigger screen. You can also control the TV from your smartphone using the Samsung SmartThings app. It also gives you the option to mirror movies, photos, and music from your smartphone with a tap.

The TV is also designed to be the centrepiece of the home. It has a slim design. The device comes with a centrally-mounted stand. This L-shaped stand has a metallic finish. The rear of the TV has a matte finish which makes it easy to clean. There are also cut outs for cable management, so the setup looks clean and tidy.

The Samsung Series 9 QN90B also has ample connectivity options. The device has four HDMI 2.1 ports, all of them supporting 4K 144Hz refresh rate sources. There are two USB 2.0 ports for connecting hard drives or pen drives. For wireless connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.2, which is a major upgrade over the last year’s models. You also get an Ethernet port for wired connectivity.

The TV also promises a solid sound performance with its built-in 40W speakers, supporting Dolby Atmos. The TV also supports Object Tracking Sound, a feature that optimises sound to the scenes, so you can hear every detail. There is also support for Q-Symphony which syncs the TV speakers with a compatible Samsung soundbar for creating a multi-speaker setup.
