The activity tracker segment has been bubbling with activity, and a large credit goes to brands like Xiaomi. Their Mi Band range has been around for the longest time, best known for offering rich features at affordable prices. Its latest iteration, the Mi Band 6 is out in the market even more features, including improved battery life.

The Mi Band 6 has a simple, but comfortable design. The pill-shaped tracker fits into a thin silicone strap, which is now more comfortable. Xiaomi says the new band uses a softer TPU material that is also resistant to dust. The band has a pin-in-hole buckle for a more wristwatch-like feel. It weighs only 12.9 g, so its barely noticeable. The device is also just 12.7 mm thick, so it doesn’t look bulky even on slim wrists. This fitness tracker comes with a 5 ATM (50 meters) water-resistant rating, so you can wear it even while showering, swimming or running in the rain.

The tracker ships with a standard black strap. You can also purchase additional maroon, orange, blue, and light green ones. Xiaomi continues to offer its proprietary charger design, but instead of micro-USB, it now uses a USB Type-C connector. This means fewer cables to carry while travelling. The charger uses a magnetic latch system, so you can easily attach the device while charging. The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 uses a 125 mAh battery, with a claimed 14 days of battery life under normal usage. Xiaomi says you can get up to 19 days of battery life with the Power Saving Mode turned on.

One of the features that make the Mi Band 6 stand out is its screen. It’s a 1.56-inch AMOLED screen, with nearly 50 per cent more screen area than the Mi Band 5. Xiaomi says the new screen is also more responsive and it recognises touch input even from wet fingers. The screen comes fitted with an additional tempered glass for additional protection. This means you can wear the band while playing sports like cricket, tennis and even while mountain climbing without worrying.

The Mi Band 6 lets you see your phone’s notifications straight on your wrist. It supports most major apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Gmail and Facebook. It even alerts you of incoming calls, and you can even use it to control music on your phone wirelessly. Xiaomi says the device now supports more than 80 watch faces. You can now also set your favourite picture as a watch face, a feature that was absent on the previous generations Mi Bands.

The Mi Band 6 has a ton of features usually seen on more expensive fitness trackers. These include a blood oxygen tracking sensor allowing you to keep track of your oxygen saturation levels. It also has a heart rate sensor that can be configured to continuously track your fitness, no matter whether you are exercising or resting.

It also has sleep monitoring features which Xiaomi says are as good as its flagship smartwatches. It tracks deep and light sleep, analysing any waking periods during the night. The device also offers breathing exercises to reduce stress levels. With the Mi Band 6, Xiaomi has also introduced a new PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) feature that provides fitness scores based on your age, weight, height and heart rate. It also recommends exercises to improve your wellness score. There is also a Find My Phone feature that can be used to locate your phone.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 also excels when it comes to fitness tracking. Xiaomi says the device can track up to 30 exercises, including outdoor running, cycling, walking, elliptical, indoor cycling, yoga, and even Zumba. It also has tracking modes for cricket, bowling, badminton, boxing, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and kickboxing. The tracker is also perfect for swimmers, as it has a dedicated mode to track your hand strokes. The band can also automatically detect exercises, so you don’t need to manually choose one.

The Mi Companion app makes fitness tracking even richer by providing deeper insights into your health. Xiaomi says the app was recently updated for a cleaner and easier to navigate design. If your friends or family members own Xiaomi fitness trackers, you can connect to their accounts by scanning a QR code within the app. This allows you to see their fitness activity, and you can even challenge each other to earn badges. The Mi Band 6 is also compatible with other major fitness apps like Google Fit, Strava, and Apple Health.

Priced at just Rs. 3,499*, the Mi Band 6 is the most feature-rich fitness tracker for budget-conscious buyers. It is way more polished than its predecessors and comes with a bigger screen making notifications and fitness stands more visible. Features like SpO2 detection and sleep tracking are also rare at this price. The Mi Band 6 can be ordered from www.reliancedigital.in.
