It comes with a carry bag making it convenient to carry this sunglass in bag or handbag while heading for work, walks, runs, jog, riding, driving or travelling without any worry of it getting damaged. Built with stainless steel hinge plated in gold, its scratch and shatter-resistant lenses and the transparent frame adds a premium look to the frame. This Frame not just lets you groove to your favourite soundtracks but also protects you from the harsh summer sun as it has 99 per cent UVA/UVB protection. Its open-ear design lets you interact with the world around you, while discreetly listening to music. The miniaturised Bose speaker is precisely positioned to direct sound at you and produces rich, immersive sound for you, while others hear practically nothing. The gesture control feature in this sunglass is one of its distinctive features. To adjust the volume, just press and hold the volume button and turn your head toward the right to increase the volume or left to decrease it. The voice prompt guides you through the connectivity process via Bluetooth. This Bose Frame can track the last eight devices that have been paired and connected.  Voice prompts guide you through the Bluetooth connection process, announce the battery level and identify the connected device.

Voice prompt notifications

  • Call notifications: A voice prompt announces incoming callers and call status
  • Battery notifications: Each time you power on the Frames, a voice prompt announces the battery level. When you’re using the Frames and the battery is low, you’ll hear: “Battery low, please charge now”

Disabling voice prompts Use the Bose Connect app to disable/enable voice prompts.

Note: Disabling voice prompts disables notifications.

  • Open the app and wait while it searches for available Bose Bluetooth products
  • Tap the Settings icon to open the product’s Settings menu. Note: If you have more than one Bose Bluetooth product, swipe left or right to find it, then tap Settings
  • Use the toggle next to “Voice Prompts” to turn prompts on (toggle to the right) or off (toggle to the left)
     
Connecting other products with Bose Frames Alto (earphone)

Bluetooth wireless technology lets you stream audio from mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets and laptop computers. Before you can play audio from a device, you must connect the device to the Frames.

Bose Connect app
We recommend using the Bose Connect app when connecting to your mobile device.

To do so:

  1. Download the Bose Connect app and follow the app instructions
  2. Once connected, you’ll hear “Connected to ” and the status light will blink white quickly for 2 seconds before fading to black

Bluetooth mobile device: Bose Frames Alto (earphone)

To connect using the Bluetooth on your mobile device:

  1. Power off the Frames
  2. Press and hold the button on the right temple until you hear “Ready to connect” and the status light slowly blinks white
  3. On your device, enable the Bluetooth feature. The Bluetooth feature is usually found in the Settings menu
  4. Select your Frames from the device list. Look for the name you entered for your Frames in the Bose Connect app. If you didn’t name your Frames, the default name appears
    Once connected, you’ll hear “Connected to ” and the status light will blink white quickly for 2 seconds before fading to black.

Disconnecting a mobile device
You can use the Bose Connect app or Bluetooth settings to disconnect your mobile device. Keep in mind that disabling the Bluetooth feature disconnects all other devices.

Reconnecting a mobile device
Your Frames must be powered on and within range (9 m/30 ft) of your mobile device. When powered on, the Frames try to reconnect with the most recently connected device.

Clearing the Frames device list

  1. Power off the Frames by flipping them upside down for 2 seconds. The status light glows solid white then fades to black
  2. Press and hold the button on the right temple until you hear “Bluetooth device list cleared” and the status light slowly blinks white
  3. Delete your Frames from the Bluetooth list on your device
    All devices are cleared and the Frames are ready to connect.

Do Bose Frames  have UVA/B protection?

 

Yes. Bose Frames are 99% UVA/UVB protected.

Are Bose Frames water and/or sweat resistant?

 

No. Frames have protection against dripping water (IPX2 rating). They are not meant to be submerged under water, such as use during swimming or other water sports.

Are Bose Frames polarised?

 

No.

Can I use Bose Frames to make phone calls?

 

Yes. A call can be answered and ended by pressing the multi-function button.

What are the audio connection options for Bose Frames?

 

Bose Frames support industry-standard Bluetooth A2DP and Bluetooth HFP for phone calls.

Do Bose Frames support Wi-Fi or WiDi?

 

No. The wireless connection for Bose Frames is Bluetooth only.

What is the range of the Bluetooth performance of Bose Frames?

 

The Bluetooth connection for Bose Frames is capable of stable operation at up to 9 m (30 ft). Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi or other wireless devices and device manufacturers’ Bluetooth implementations.

How many devices can pair with Bose Frames at once? What happens if I have several Bluetooth-enabled devices in my house?

 

Bose Frames keep track of the last eight devices to have paired and connected with them, dropping the least recently used when a new one is paired.
When in Bluetooth mode, Bose Frames search for and connect to the most recently connected active Bluetooth-enabled device. If that device is unavailable, Bose Frames will attempt the next most recently connected device.
If you wish to connect to another device, even one previously paired, you must power off Bose Frames by flipping them upside down for two seconds. Then, press and hold the button on the right temple until you hear “Ready to connect” and the status light slowly blinks white.

What apps work with Bose Frames?

 

Since Bose Frames use Bluetooth connectivity, you can access any app that’s on your mobile device. Some examples include:

  • Music services like Spotify and Apple Music
  • Voice communication apps like Skype and WhatsApp
  • Navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze
  • Eventually with Bose AR, fitness, gaming and travel apps



Are Bose Frames enabled with Bose AR?

 

Yes. Bose Frames will receive over-the-air updates via the Bose Connect app. Software updates will unlock new features as they become available, such as new Bose AR experiences created by third-party developers—coming soon.

What is the battery performance of Bose Frames?

 

Battery performance varies with the content played and the volume at which it is played. In typical usage, the Bose Frames battery lasts up to 12 hours on standby or up to 3.5 hours of streaming music playback.

What is the purpose of the multi-function button?

 

When in audio playback mode, the multi-function button allows you to play (single press), pause (single press), track forwards (double press) and track backwards (triple press).
When there is an incoming call, pressing the multi-function button will answer the call and pressing and holding it will reject the call. During an active call, pressing the button will end the call.
To trigger the voice assistant, press and hold the multi-function button to access Siri on an iOS device or the Google Assistant on an Android device.
The button is also used to power off Bose Frames. Simply double press and hold the button to turn off the device.
