Why now is a good time to buy a Canon EOS 1300D

Photography is one of those hobbies that interests everyone. Many of us use mobile phones to click photos, and they are functional no doubt. They’re easy to use and they’re good enough for casual, spontaneous photos. The absence of a zoom lens or a good quality sensor means you can’t really fully explore the potential of our creativity.

A good modern-day DSLR has evolved over the past decade into a piece of hardware that offers excellent features and picture quality that few phones can come close to matching. It’s a misunderstanding that these DSLR cameras are expensive. A good state-of-the-art DSLR like the Canon EOS 1300D is exactly the kind of product that should interest you.

If you haven’t made the move to a DSLR yet, or you’ve been using an old model, now is the time to consider the brand new Canon EOS 1300D. At Rs. 29,995, it’s one of the best DSLRs you can find at its price, with features that were typically found on cameras many times its price. If you’re looking for the Canon EOS 1300D, you can now pre-order it today, from Reliance Digital. You can check our Reliance Digital Store Locator feature to find a store closest to you, or you can simply contact us on our customer care at 1800-103-1044. Let’s take a closer look at the Canon EOS 1300D and what makes it so impressive.

Using WiFi and NFC to control and transfer photos from the 1300D

The Canon EOS 1300D brings something few DSLRs today offers at its price – WiFi and NFC capability. NFC is great, because the technology allows a NFC compatible phone to connect to the EOS 1300D simply by touching them together.

WiFi capability adds a lot of flexibility too. Until a few years back, clicking photos on a camera using a remote control was only possible using a separate wired or wireless remote control. These are usually expensive. With the new EOS 1300D, your phone can be your wireless remote. It lets you do things that weren’t possible on a traditional remote. With a phone, you can now see what the camera sees. It lets you remotely focus, change settings such as the aperture, ISO and shutter speed. The app is extremely easy to use and takes a couple of seconds to connect. This is particularly great if you want click a timelapse sequence of photos, or you want to click photos of birds outside your window without disturbing it. If you own a Canon Connect Station, this further improves the capability of the camera by letting you wirelessly stream photos and videos from the camera to other devices such as your TV.

Improved white balance capability

One of the enhancements on the new Canon EOS 1300D is the white balance feature. Press the Quick Control button (marked Q) and switch to the White Priority mode within Auto White Balance mode. This mode now make photos shot indoors with lights a bit more natural, offering a truer white than seen previous. This has typically been a problem while clicking photos during parties and functions where photos end up with a very saturated shade of orange or blue.

Food, and many more modes to play with!

The Canon EOS 1300D has several modes, which makes clicking photos really simple. The Food shooting mode is one of the newly introduced modes. All of us love clicking photos and uploading them to Instagram or Facebook. The mode lets you tweak your photo before you shoot it from a warm to a cool tone. The Food mode isn’t the only one though. There are plenty of other modes, and they can make clicking really good photos, very simple.

Canon EOS 1300D: The hardware

The Canon EOS 1300D is powerful. It uses an 18 megapixel, APS-C sized sensor which means it’s many times better than phone cameras and point-and-shoot cameras. It shoots full HD (1080p) videos at 30 fps so you can use the camera to shoot good quality videos. The ISO ranges from 100 to 6400 (expandable to 1200), which means you won’t worry about having to use flash for photos in low light. The 9-focus points on the camera, combined with the DIGIC4+ processor lend itself to focusing quickly, and accurately.

Of course, the WiFi and NFC feature we mentioned earlier is rarely found in other cameras at this price range. The screen on the Canon EOS 1300D is better too. It uses a 920,000 dots screen which is twice as denser as the screen on the older EOS 1200D. The Canon EOS 1300D is available as two options, one with only the stock 18-55mm lens, and the other option being the stock 18-55mm lens and the 55-250mm one.

Easy to hold, easy to use!

The Canon EOS 1300 body is compact, and it is lighter than most other DSLRs. This makes it handy and you can carry it wherever you go. The design has a nice grip where your fingers would normally go. Another patch of similar grip can be found near the controls on the back. This helps you hold the camera with confidence without any worries of it slipping out. The interface is also similar so you don’t need to go through any complicated manuals on how to use it.

Why you should upgrade to a DSLR

If you have been using a point-and-shoot camera all along, a DSLR is a worthy upgrade. It’s a long-term purchase, which means you can use 1300D for many years to come. You can even upgrade it by adding on new lenses that let you do a lot more.

Many of us think the picture quality of a camera is depends on the resolution of the photos it takes. If you’re using a point-and-shoot camera today, or a phone to shoot photos, you’ll be surprised by the quality of a good DSLR such as the Canon EOS 1300D. The sensor onboard a DSLR such as the EOS 1300D is some 8-10 times larger than that of a point-and-shoot camera and even larger than that of a phone. A larger sensor is better in every way. It clicks excellent quality photos, clicks photos in low light without a flash, shoots better videos, focusses faster and much more!
