Vivo’s Y-series smartphones have been a great choice for budget-conscious buyers. The phones have premium styling and uncompromised performance for the price you pay. Vivo Y-series now has the all-new Y51, a mix-and-match of Vivo’s premium smartphones’ hardware and camera setup.

The Vivo Y51 is a camera-centric mid-range smartphone meant for photography enthusiasts. It is one of the rare mid-range devices to come with a high-resolution 48MP camera. The camera has a f/1.8 aperture, capable of capturing crystal-clear pictures. Vivo’s Pro camera mode lets users take control over most camera settings. The camera has an updated Super Night Mode that works with Vivo’s AI algorithm to capture stunning low-light photos. Vivo also lets you capture natural-looking images in RAW format, to professionally colour correct them in image editing software. The rear cameras can record 4K videos up to 30 fps. They come with built-in gyro-EIS to ensure stability while capturing photos and videos.

The Vivo Y51’s secondary 8MP camera sports an ultra-wide 120-degree, field-of-view. It comes handy while clicking landscapes and large groups of people. There is also a 2MP macro camera that lets you focus on the subjects from as close as 4 cm. The Vivo Y51 also comes with a strong 16MP f/2.0 front camera to clicks wide selfies, and it also supports the Super Night Mode feature. The selfie camera also supports HDR, and it records full HD videos up to 30 fps.

The Vivo Y51 is geared up with strong hardware despite being a mid-range device. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor, which is a big step up on most budget phones. The phone’s Adreno 660 GPU can run high-end games such as Asphalt 9: Airborne, Call of Duty: Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift and Minecraft. It is also one of the first phones in its class to house 8GB of RAM. This should make the Vivo Y51 a capable multitasker, letting you easily run multiple apps running simultaneously. The phone has 128GB of internal storage, and you can also expand the phone’s storage using a microSD card.

The Vivo Y51 is a dual-SIM LTE device, and it has Wi-Fi 802.11ac for strong wireless connectivity. Bluetooth 5.0 can be used to connect audio devices and accessories like smartwatches. The phone houses a massive 5,000 mAh battery for an all-day-long battery life even under heavy usage. Vivo bundles an 18W charger that promises 70 per cent charge in 67 minutes.

The Vivo Y51 is designed like flagship smartphones. It has an all-glass design, and an aluminium chassis for durability. The smartphone comes with a side-placed fingerprint reader that lets you unlock the phone more comfortably. The Vivo Y51 is just 8.3 mm thick which makes it one of the thinnest mid-range devices. Its weighs 188s and its curved edges provide a comfortable grip. The Vivo Y51 is available in two shades – Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony. The phone’s glossy back changes colours depending on the angle you look at it from. Vivo also bundles a clear case to keep the phone clean and protect it from bumps and scratches.

The Vivo Y51 has a large 6.58-inch full HD+ screen. The display uses an IPS LCD panel that Vivo says, can deliver bright and punchy colours. The phone uses a waterdrop notch design to make the screen nearly edgeless. The display’s 20:9 screen aspect ration is also perfect for watching movies, reading e-books, and playing games. The display also supports Always-on feature, allowing you to see notifications at a glance without having to turn the screen on each time.

The Y51 runs on Android 11, and it uses Vivo’s latest Funtouch OS 11. Vivo says the new design is refreshingly simple, void of non-essential elements. The icons now use a soft round design, and users can also customise them to their liking. The new OS also comes with a built-in screen recording feature, so you can easily create game commentary videos, tutorials and more. Vivo has also updated the Ultra Game Mode feature, so you can answer incoming calls without quitting the game. The Funtouch OS 11 also introduces a new iManager feature that regularly scans the device for viruses, malicious files and potentially dangerous applications to keep your data safe.

The Vivo Y51 is a premium-looking, mid-range device with strong hardware and great cameras. The Vivo Y51 is priced at Rs. 17,990*. The device is now available at www.reliancedigital.in and at your nearest Reliance Digital store.
