The entry-level TCL P715 has a 50-inch screen, and it runs a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 like the larger 55-inch and 65-inch models. All three models use a direct-lit panel that uses several LEDs placed behind the screen. This allows the TVs to produce deep, uniform blacks and good brightness. The TVs also support HDR10+ that optimises the picture quality frame-by-frame to enhance the contrast between lighter and darker shades.
The P715 TVs also support TCL’s Dynamic Color Enhancement feature. TCL claims they use a proprietary algorithm to expand the traditional colour palette limitations for a more vibrant content viewing experience. The TV supports 4K upscaling that determines the signal and converts it to 4K by reducing the noise. The TVs also have a micro dimming feature that intelligently adjusts the brightness to the scene, to offer a superior viewing experience in the dark lit rooms.
The TCL P715 TVs are Dolby Audio-certified, and they use two downward-firing 30W speakers. TCL claims these speakers deliver loud sound while maintaining audio quality. These TVs also come with all the connectivity ports you expect these days. They have three HDMI ports of which one supports the ARC feature. The devices also have two USB 2.0 ports for connecting pen drives and hard drives. They use Wi-Fi 802.11n for wireless internet connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0 for pairing a soundbar or wireless headphones.
The P715 TVs have thin bezels, painted in silver to give them a sleek and premium look. They use a plastic chassis, and their rear section houses cut-outs for clean wire management. The P715 series TVs come with TCL’s new dual-position stand like the higher-end TCL 6-Series TVs. The TV stand matches the brushed, silver-painted finish of the TVs, and TCL claims the design also helps to achieve better stability. TCL also bundles a wall-mounting kit, and you won’t need to purchase any extra accessories.
The TCL P715 TVs uses a quad-core processor that smoothly runs Android 9 OS. TCL claims the new processor is specially tuned for new generation smart TVs, so they can seamlessly handle every app run on it. These TVs also support the Android Gaming feature allowing you to play popular games such as Asphalt 8: Airborne, Crossy Roads, Dead Trigger 2, and Badland using the bundled smart remote controller.
TCL has also made some optimization to the TV’s stock Android interface by making the icons a bit larger, giving easy access to menus and settings. The TVs comes pre-installed with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar along with regional content streaming apps such as ALTBalaji, Voot, and ZEE5. The devices inbuilt Google Play store give access to a ton of apps and TCL also ensures regular OS updates to make the TVs faster and smoother.
The P715 TVs also works with TCL’s MagiConnect app, that lets you control the TV’s power settings, and it even lets you search for content quickly using the in-built keyboard. The app can be also used to cast photos and videos from your phone to the TV, and even take screenshots of TV content. The P715 TVs support Google Assistant allowing you to use voice commands to launch apps, set reminders, and even to play your favourite music. The devices also support Google Home integration which means you can control smart home devices such as IP cameras, smart lights, air purifiers and even robotic vacuum cleaners from the TV.
