TCL C825 Mini LED TV – The technology of the future

Mini LED panels are the future of smart TVs. They sport a higher count of light-emitting diodes than traditional panels with better contrast and brightness. They aren’t as affordable as we would like and most Mini LED TVs can sell for well above Rs. 1,50,000. The new TCL 55C825 TV can change this. It is the most affordable Mini LED TV in the country right now, with all the bells and whistles of a flagship TV.  What should be of interest if you are a media connoisseur is that this TV is soon to be available, here at Reliance Digital at just Rs. 114,990*.

The TCL C825 is a 55-inch 4K TV. Its mini-LED panel gives it greater control over backlighting to render deeper blacks. There is 100 per cent DCI-P3 support, which helps with rendering accurate colours. There is also an additional Quantum Dot filter that further enhances colours and contrast for life-like picture quality. The C825 supports all the important HDR formats such as HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. This means you can experience brighter highlights, a wide range of colours, and saturation. It also means that you could play content from any medium or online streaming service, and you can experience the expected kind of HDR performance and experience.

The TCL C825 also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It works with MEMC (Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation) technology that uses an intelligent algorithm to make fast-moving, action-packed scenes look crisper and silky smooth. If you are a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X or S user, the C825 can be a great choice. It comes with HDMI 2.1 that lets you play 4K games at 120Hz. TCL has also introduced a dedicated Game Master mode with automatic ALLM signal detection to reduce the input lag. This is particularly useful since gamers need to see the responses of their actions immediately to make the next one. The AMD FreeSync support is also a good addition, if you are a PC gamer who plans on using the TV as a large display. The FreeSync technology lets your graphics card work in tandem with the TV to sync the frames, so you see no stuttering, delay or tearing, like you would on non-compatible setups.

Most TVs may look great in a showroom, but they can look completely different in the home environment, which keeps changing through the day. The TCL C825 comes with an in-built light sensor that intelligently optimises the content based on the brightness of the room. It ensures you get close-to-optimum performance. There are also AI-powered features such as Dolby Vision that help display a greater number of colours and boosts brightness levels. This results in smooth gradients rather than patchy colours limited by panels that cannot render the variations in colours. The TV’s AIPQ Engine also analyses the content in real-time to improve picture quality. There is also AI Super Resolution feature to optimise text, edges, and overall contrast of items.

While most slim TVs also suffer from poor sound, owing to their slim designs, the TCL C825 excels. It comes with a 30W Onkyo sound solution, capable of delivering crisp and clear sound. Onkyo is a prominent Japanese audio solutions company known for making a wide range of sound products from speakers to amplifiers for more than half a century. The TCL C825 also has an additional 20W sub-woofer that delivers incredible bass for movies, music and video games. The TV also supports Dolby Atmos for multi-dimensional audio so you can have a cinema-like content viewing experience at home.

The TCL C825 has a premium design. It uses an aluminium frame for structural rigidity. It comes with a metal stand that provides stability on flat surfaces. TCL also includes a wall mounting kit and because this is a slim TV, it can neatly fit close to your wall. The C825 ships with TCL’s Magic Camera that magnetically attaches to the top of the TV. Users can make wide-angle full HD calls using Google Duo and even take notes and voice memos. You can also use hand gestures to fast forward, rewind, and play pause movies. Additionally, the camera also lets you take wide-angle take selfies. When was the last time you saw a TV that could do these?

The TCL C825 runs on Android 10 and uses TCL’s TV+3 UI. It comes pre-installed with YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, and even regional content providers such as Zee5 and Voot. You can also download more apps and games from Google Play Store. The TCL Safety Guard feature protects your privacy by managing permissions and restricting third-party app access. Plus, it also optimises the storage and RAM for better performance. Features such as Multi Visual are also interesting, as it lets you cast two smartphone screens on the TV simultaneously.

The TCL C825 also comes with built-in Google Assistant that lets you control your TV using voice commands. It lets you switch channels, adjust the volume, set reminders and even get weather reports.  TCL’s AI x IoT feature also lets you control Google Home enabled devices around your home. This means you can set the air conditioner’s temperature, dim lights, and even control your robot vacuum straight from the TV. You can also control the TV from your smartphone using the TCL Magic Connect app. It lets you take screenshots, share content on social media and cast photos and videos from your phone.

The Mini LED technology has the potential to shape the future of smart TVs. While Mini LED TVs are somewhat expensive right now, the TCL C825 makes it more accessible. It is way more affordable than the competition and it all the features you would expect from a flagship TV. The TCL C825 55-inch 4K TV is now available for pre-order at www.reliancedigital.in, and you can also check it out soon by visiting your nearest Reliance Digital store.
