Samsung expanding budget-only M series phones has a new addition, the Galaxy M51. It is Samsung’s most powerful mid-range offering and it’s being called the “meanest monster ever” since it comes with a monstrous 7,000 mAh battery. There’s more to it – great hardware, a good set of cameras, and more.

Most phones with large screens and massive batteries are thick. Most manufacturers then pack smaller batteries and larger screens on their phones. Samsung has taken it as a challenge and the Galaxy M51 is slim, despite its large 6.7-inch screen and massive 7,000 mAh battery. The M51 has thin bezels and a small punch-hole camera within its Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O (1800 x 2400) display. Samsung claims the phone is good for watching movies and playing games. It can produce vivid colours and render high-quality pictures. The phone is made of plastic and there is a quad-camera module on the back. The phone ships in Electric Blue and the Celestial Black colours.

The Galaxy M series phones are known for their power-packed performance, and the Galaxy M51 is no exception. It comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, which is quite high up in the hierarchy of processors. This mid-range SoC can do multiple-tasks and it can deliver performance while keeping the battery life in check. You could also use this phone for some gaming. The phone comes with 128GB of built-in storage, which should be enough for most people, and in two RAM configurations – 6GB and 8GB. The phone also has reverse charging support, enabling the Galaxy M51 to act as a power bank to charge other devices. It’s not wireless, so you will need a Type-C cable to use it. The bundled 25W Type-C charger can recharge the Galaxy M51’s massive battery in less than 2 hours.

The Galaxy M51 comes with a multi-camera setup. The screen houses a 32MP camera that can click slow-motion selfies and even record 4K videos. At the back is a powerful 64MP main camera, which uses a Sony IMX682 sensor to click stunning photos even at night. There is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree field-of-view to capture landscapes. The phone also gets a 5MP depth camera to click portraits and a dedicated 5MP macro lens for close-ups. The Galaxy M51 captures quality photos and 4K videos at 30fps. The Camera app has different shooting modes like HDR, slow-motion, super-steady, etc. The Galaxy M51 has an interesting ‘Single Take’ that captures a video and then uses AI to produce multiple photos out of it.

The Galaxy M51 is easy to use with Samsung’s latest One UI 2.1 that’s based on Android 10. The One UI 2.1 is good at battery optimization, limiting background apps from draining the battery. The OS also protects your personal information using Samsung’s multi-layered Knox security platform.

The Samsung Galaxy M51, the latest in the series, is a well-designed phone that draws attention to its large screen. It’s more than that, it can click great photos, videos and if you are in the market for a phone with an obscenely good battery life, look no further than the Galaxy M51. It is available at your nearest Reliance Digital store with a starting price of Rs. 24,999* for the 6GB model, and Rs. 26,999* for the 8GB one.
