Samsung Galaxy F62 – Full-on Speedy!

The catchphrase for Samsung’s new F62 is #FullOnSpeedy and there are several reasons to be excited about it. The Galaxy F62 is a premium mid-range phone running a flagship-class processor, at a price that challenges the trendsetters for that segment. If you have been waiting for a powerful phone from a mainstream, well-renowned brand like Samsung, the F62 is it. Let us look at some of its prominent features.
The speedy Samsung Galaxy F62 runs the Exynos 9825, a flagship-class processor. It is an octa-core processor, but it really is a combination of two dual-core processors, and a quad-core processor. It is based on the 7nm fabrication process, so it is extremely efficient when it comes to performance and battery consumption. Samsung is so confident of its performance, it speaks of the F62’s test scores on its web site. Antutu 8 scores an overwhelming 452065 while Geekbench 5 scores 2401. These numbers suggest some impressive performance in apps. The processor is coupled with a Mali G76 graphics processor that helps take gaming performance to an all-new level. Samsung even claims an Antutu 8 GPU score of 173903, which is just as impressive as its CPU score. It is safe to assume any apps and games on the phone will run effortlessly, without any stuttering and slowdown. This is a device you can depend on for years to come.

The Samsung Galaxy F62 is just released, and users will be able to experience the real-world performance for themselves soon. The phone comes in two variants, 6GB and 8GB, both running 128GB of storage. The difference in performance may not be a lot between the memory variants but the 128GB storage should suffice for most users. Plenty of games, apps can be installed on the device, and you also get a microSD card slot. This means you can buy an inexpensive memory card and expand the storage by a lot more. In fact, you can plug a memory card as large as 1TB. That is an obscene amount of storage for a phone, and it matches up to other flagship devices.
There is a lot more to this device than just brute performance. Take the screen for example. It is a massive 6.7-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400) display, the perfect size and resolution for playing games, working, or watching movies on. The resolution is fine enough to display a lot of text on the screen at once, but not too tiny that you are left squinting. It is no cheap LCD display either, it is Samsung Super AMOLED Plus, Infinity-O display. This means, it is excellent when it comes to colour rendition and contrast ratios, a task LCD panels fail sorely at. The 20:9 aspect ratio display and punch-hole camera ensures you are not distracted by a large notch, and you also get the benefit of a bezel-free display.
Another component that should ensure jaw-dropping performance is its battery. While most popular smartphones boast of 4,000 and 5,000 mAh batteries, the Samsung Galaxy F62 has a ground-breaking 7,000 mAh battery. The phone even supports fast charging so you can top up the phone from 0 to 100 per cent in no time. There is a 25W fast charging adapter that comes in the box. Reverse charging is also a feature, so you charge other devices using the F62. With a battery as massive as 7,000 mAh, it is almost the same capacity as many power banks in the market.

Most of us now use our smartphone cameras as means to capture fond memories. The F62 is well equipped to deal for this requirement. The front of the phone has a clean look, with the only camera in the punch hole provision. It might look tiny but there is a 32MP sensor hidden behind it that makes for some great video calling capabilities and selfies.

The cameras at the back are designed for professional photography, perfect for anyone who loves clicking and uploading photos to Instagram and Facebook all the time. The primary camera has a resolution of 64MP, but it is accompanied by three other lenses. There are two 5MP cameras, one for macro, and the other for depth perception. These are what enable the cameras to click those great shallow depth of field bokeh photographs. There is also a 12MP wide-angle camera for clicking wide landscapes as well as indoor photographs that would normally need you to step far back to capture a group of people.
There are a bunch of nifty image and video features also built into the Camera app. The camera supports features like Live Focus, Smart Cropping, and Best Moments, that help you quickly get the image and look you want, without having to manually scroll through hundreds of your photos and picking the right ones. Some of the video editing features include fast-forwarding, reversing, or boomerang effects. The rear cameras can even shoot 4K video, that you can play on your 4K TV and other displays. Slow motion footage can be recorded at 480fps on HD resolutions, so you can slow it down all the way to up to 16 times or so.
The front-facing camera can be used to unlock the device, using Fast Face Unlock but do not worry, a fingerprint scanner is also built into the side, so you get speedy and secure unlocking. The side-positioning of the scanner is also quite intuitive since it lines up perfectly when you hold the phone up in your hand. Even the operating system used is Android 11, which is refined and incredibly stable. It has its own set of features, but they are tweaked with Samsung’s One UI 3.1, which is quite customizable. Samsung is in the news for having some of the best optimisations and third-party tweaks made to Android lately, so it is impressive that you get this update with your Galaxy F62.

Other standard features include the USB Type-C connector, even the trusty 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. Wi-Fi is rated at 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) and Bluetooth at 5.0, so you know you are in safe hands as far as wireless connectivity is concerned.
As with most phones, there is more to them than simply great hardware and features. It also needs to stand out and that is something the Galaxy F62 does exceptionally well. It comes in three attractive colours, called Laser Green, Laser Grey and Laser Blue. The designs are trendy and will stand the test of time. You won’t have to wait to own one either.
