To most of us, refrigerators are just an appliance that’s left in our kitchen or next to the dining table. There is not much more to it. A look back over the past couple of years reveals the most basic of home appliances have taken on a new avatar. The refrigerator of 2021 plays a bigger role than just preserving food. It is a hub, and Samsung hopes to show you just what the future holds with their new line of Bespoke refrigerators. Unlike other refrigerators that have improved efficiency and cooling, these new Bespoke refrigerators do more. Most of us do not upgrade from one refrigerator to another every other year and so, a premium Bespoke refrigerator is a product you are going to use for years on end. These demand a premium, and they are large refrigerators after all but there is more to them than meets the eye.

The three models Samsung is launching are the Bespoke RF63A91C377 (670L), RF87A9770SG (865L), RF90A955387 (934L). These high-capacity refrigerators are great for larger families where typically you need to stock up on food often. With these capacities, you might need to replenish the refrigerator less often. The basic 670L model starts from 167,990* while the 865L model is priced at Rs. 269,990*, and the largest, 934L comes in at Rs. 254,990*.

Each of the models comes in a range of exciting colours. They are modern, elegant, and bound to go well with your home decor. The 670L and 934L models comes in a Glam White & Glam Navy contrasting scheme while the 865L one comes in Black Caviar. All the refrigerators are French doors models, which means they have four doors, that given you an entirely open view to the insides.
The 670L (RF63A91C377) model is different from the other two premium models, skimping on the display up front that’s seen on the two other models. It lacks the smart features but it is still a very capable refrigerator. The setup ensures you have the flexibility to place all the food you might need to preserve. There are a range of compartments and containers to place everything from fruit, meat, vegetables, eggs, and more. There is a specific area called the FlexZone that lets you use it for all kinds of food. You can choose one of the pre-sets to select the kind of cooling you need. These pre-sets are Freeze, Soft Freeze, Meat/Fish, Fruit/Veggies and Beverage. Two other similar spaces are named Flex Crisper which is meant for meat and fish, while the Crisper+ is ideal for fruit, vegetables, and other similar kinds of foods. This arrangement makes for efficient uses of spacing and cooling.
Cooling performance is at heart of the range of Bespoke refrigerators. All models, including the starting 670L (RF63A91C377) model have Power Cool and Power Freeze features. Controlling the various temperatures is no longer with dials and knobs. There is an LCD display built inside the refrigerator that tells you the current setting. You can dial up and down the cooling performance of the refrigerator using this button press. The 670L RF63A91C377 is really all about capacity and for those are looking for at a stylish, no-nonsense refrigerator that can store a ton of food, for a large family. One look at the refrigerator with its doors open and the sheer scale of it comes to light.

The two other models, the 934L RF90A955387 and the 865L RF90A955387 models include displays up front, that bring an entire world of convenience to the mix. Suddenly, the refrigerator is no longer just a large metal cooling box, but a place where you interact with your family. This is a product that could be placed right next to your dining table, rather than in the kitchen.

The SmartView feature allows you to use the display on these refrigerators as a TV. You can use it to stream content from your favourite services and apps. The Morning Brief feature shows the latest news, food reminders, calendar entries, even the weather. You can also interact with all these features using the touchscreen and if you want, using the Bixby voice assistant.
The screen can also be accessed as a terminal to access the internet. You can do this without using a connected smartphone or laptop. Think of it as screensaver but it is also a wonderful way to colour your dining room or kitchen, using the refrigerator as a photo frame.
The RF90A955387 (865L) is the most feature packed of all the models. It has a more than a few tricks up its sleeve, that the other two models do not. Take for example, being able to use Bluetooth to make phone calls without even plugging in earphones or holding your phone up while you are cooking. If you use a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you can also use it to start dial calls from it. When was the last time you dialled someone using a refrigerator? You can use Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant to performs tasks for your with just voice commands. You can tell it to add entries, set alarms, and it can even watch your habits, make recommendations, and set preferences.

The refrigerator is not just used by one person, like a phone might be. It is shared among people, so it can be a hub for everyone to come together, leave notes, photos and videos from recent outings, stickies, like you would on a traditional refrigerator. You can even draw things, write hand-written notes, and share bookmarks on it. Even your calendar entries can be synchronised from your other devices such as your smartphone and laptop, directly on to your refrigerator.

Other enhancements are the sheer amount of ice it can make, and the variety. We are used to regularly shaped ice cubes, but the Samsung RF90A955387 has a Dual Auto Ice Maker that makes cube-shaped ice but also something called Ice Bites, that is good to cool down any beverages.
