The queue of smartphone launches is endless. There is one at practically for every price and every user. A year back, one might have thought there isn’t anything new happening in the smartphone space. Folding smartphones are still some time from becoming mainstream but what about the sub-Rs. 15,000 price range? Turns out, you can expect a lot from smartphones at this price. Most of what was only till recently, never seen before, has reached flagships and is now making its way down to really affordable phones like the brand-new Realme 7.

The Realme 7 is the kind of phone you play games on, and watch movies on and that’s easy, because it comes with a massive 6.5-inch FHD+ screen. You get the screen space and you also get good resolution that ensures crisp detail, large amounts of text and web pages fit on it. This means little scrolling. The more interesting specification is its 90Hz display that makes navigating, butter-smooth. This is one of the major advancements to arrive on most flagship phones. The benefits are most apparent in fast-paced games, but you will notice it as you slide through your app drawer, photo galleries or just while browsing.

The heart of any smartphone is its processor, and the Realme 7 is the first to ship with the brand-new Helio G95 processor. It’s designed for gaming and it runs 8 cores, some of which are clocked at about 2.05GHz, which is quite impressive as a number. It lets sail you through practically any app and game. Alongside is a Mali-G76 GPU running at 900Hz that helps with the latest mobile gaming titles. It may not be flagship-class gaming, but you should play most titles just fine. Smartphones are powerful but if you run games on them for a long time, they heat up. The Realme 7 uses a carbon fiber cooling system which helps ease the temperatures while letting the processor operate without any slowdown.

There are two Realme 7 models as far as core specs go. The standard version comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. This is good enough for most of us, but you can also opt for the slightly more expensive model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Either route, there is also a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 256 GB. You can always top it up if you think 64 GB of storage is not enough.
A phone with a large screen and good performance also needs a large enough battery or you will be left recharging the device all the time. Thankfully, the Realme 7 comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery that Realme claims will run 48 hours if you are on a long call, or 9 hours, if you are gaming non-stop. It even plays 15 hours of movies non-stop, which is nice to have, if you are on a long journey. If you thought, charging this device takes a long time, you would be wrong. Realme adopts its Dart Charging technology which helps boost the Realme 7’s battery from 0 to 50 per cent, in 26 minutes. It should be enough to get you through your day without much trouble under average workload.
Most new phones come with more than a single camera at the rear. The Realme 7 has a 119-degree, ultra wide-angle lens at the back, mounted on top of a 64MP sensor designed by Sony. Specifically, it is the IM682 unit, a 1/1.7″ module that is tuned specifiaclly for detail and for low-light photography. Gone are the days of shoddy, noisy photos and artificial looking photos lit up by harsh flash units. The sensor and the lenses allow you to click photos in the evenings, even at night. There is even a Starry mode to click photos of the night sky or the city skyline. There are even software filters to make the photography results even bolder. In addition to the primary lens, there is a B&W shooting lens and another one for macrophotography that can get as close as 4 cm to the subject. The ultra-wide-angle lens lets you click photos of large areas. It’s apparent, you get a lot of tools to experiment with your creativity.
The Realme 7 isn’t all about its features and performance, it’s also about the design. The Realme 7 comes in two classy colours, Mist Blue and Mist White. There is even a split in the back, meant to change the gloss and reflections at the back in different directions. It helps give the Realme 7 a more unique, premium look. The Realme 7 doesn’t skimp on other features such as the fingerprint scanner. In fact, it’s placed conveniently on the side, where your thumb would naturally rest. It can be used to unlock the phone or even read encrypted messages.

These are the major things you ought to know about the Realme 7. It can be yours very soon, as pre-orders on RelianceDigital.in have already begun. You can also find it also, at your nearest Reliance Digital store. So don’t wait, or stocks might run out!
