Nokia G10 – Practicality is the name of the game

Many of us buy smartphones priced anywhere between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000. At that kind of price, smartphones aren’t all that expensive, and you also get a lot for the money spent. There are plenty of options to choose from too, but most of us are looking for a reliable device to use for a couple of years before upgrading to the next one. Nokia has established itself as a strong brand and one that most people can relate to, owing to their early history of making phones. They have had several promising devices launched over the years. The Nokia G10 is among the latest ones to leave the Nokia stable.
Nokia seems to handle all the relevant features first. The G10 runs a large 6.5-inch screen with enhanced brightness levels which is handy, whether you are chatting on WhatsApp, sending emails, watching movies, or making video calls. The Nokia G10 is more than just your everyday large screen device. It is elegant in its looks. It is both, slim and lightweight but it also comes in two very interesting colors, Night and Dusk. Both are stylish and modest, so you don’t look like you’re carrying a flashy device around. The rear of the device is styled, with a circular camera block, that is functional but also it helps makes the device stand out. The front-facing camera has something called a V-notch (otherwise called teardrop) so it’s not obstructive when you are using apps, or even while playing full-screen games or watching videos.
At the core of the Nokia G10 is a MediaTek G25 processor, which is an octa-core processor clocked to speeds of up to 2 GHz. It is enough to help the Nokia G10 perform all kinds of tasks and runs all the popular everyday apps. The device also has 4 GB of onboard memory, so multitasking is a breeze. It suffices for most mainstream apps. Storage is in the form of 64 GB of onboard space, but Nokia lets you extend that by 512 GB if you plug in a microSD card. That makes it perfect for storing media on it, or even photos and videos that you might shoot using the cameras.
The Nokia G10 has more than its fair share of cameras. The setup includes a 13 MP primary camera that can capture all the fine details in your compositions. It’s helped by a 2 MP depth sensor that helps create artistic bokeh shots, the kind where the subject is in focus, but the background blurred out. There is also a 2 MP macro camera that lets you get up close to your subject. There is also a rear flash that helps light up your environment when the lighting conditions are poor. The front-facing camera has a 8MP sensor that could be used for clicking selfies but more importantly for video calls, since most of us are attending meetings and classes remotely in day and age.
Nokia also has something called AI-assisted battery that supposedly lets you use the phone through an entire weekend without having to recharge. It’s hard to doubt that claim considering the Nokia G10 comes with a 5,050 mAh battery that even supports 2A charging. It’s not the fastest charging device out there but it should help you get the battery to full in no time. The kind of capacity is enough for a device like this, to be able to game, watch movies when you run an outing without having to worry about recharging it every few hours.

Nokia ships the G10 with Android 11. We particularly like the Nokia setup since it’s close to the pure Android experience without any bloat and unnecessary software that usually comes pre-installed on most other smartphones at this price range. Nokia also says that they will push monthly security updates for the next three years, so you don’t have to worry about any malware or any security lapses on your devices. You can be rest assured your data is intact and safe. Even the hardware is designed to work alongside Android. There is even a dedicated Google Assistant button that you can use to invoke the voice assistant. You can then use voice commands to ask for information or do some tasks.
There are other essential things that we like to see in a smartphone that Nokia has taken care of. The Nokia G10 still comes with a 3.5mm audio jack which is a nice thing if you want to plug in a pair of your favourite wired earphones. You can still listen to FM Radio once you plug them in. Bluetooth 5.0 is also present, if you want to use wireless earphones or connect other peripherals to it. The USB port has been upgraded to a modern Type-C port which makes it that bit easier to charge up and get going. The front-facing camera also doubles up as a face unlocking sensor, but there is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that lets you unblock your device in moments.

There are a few places on the web that offer you this wide range of smartphones and technology. Reliancedigital.in is your one-stop shop for buying the latest smartphones and we also offer a prompt delivery option in many regions, but if you are someone who likes an in-person shopping experience, you can head over to your nearest Reliance Digital store and check out the new Nokia G10 for yourself.
