The headphone and mic jack are a combo type, with a single port so earphones used on smartphones should work on it without issues. The sound solution onboard has a Hi-Res compliant chip, that renders audio up to 24-bit / 192 kHz sample rates. With the right kind of earphones and speakers, you should be able to notice a difference in sound quality. The battery onboard is a 3-cell 39 WHr variant, but that goes a long way when you consider this laptop runs a low-power processor, and an SSD instead of a hard drive. Other standard features include Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0. There is also a 720p webcam for taking online calls or attending classes.
There are a range of USB ports, ranging from the traditional Type-A USB 2.0 ones, to even Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 ones. The HDMI port can even output to 4K TVs and monitors (at 30Hz), so there is a lot even an everyday laptop like this can do. Even the keyboard is backlit so you can work through late evenings and at night without disturbing others around you. It is also designed to be ergonomic with its 1.5mm key travel so if you type a lot, this should help. These are a pleasant set of features on a laptop that’ss priced like a basic, casual laptop.
The MSI Modern 14 B10MW comes with Windows 10, but you can now also upgrade to Windows 11.
