Ultra-thin laptops are generally expensive, but not Lenovo’s Yoga series laptops. They are stylish, portable and paired with reliable performance and affordable pricing. The new Yoga Slim 7 sits right between the entry-tier Yoga Slim 5 and high-end Yoga Slim 9. It ships with the latest silicon from AMD and promises all the bells-and-whistles of a modern-day Ultrabook. Let’s see what makes it so special.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 comes with an all-aluminium body, unlike the Yoga Slim 3’s plastic. The aluminium chassis improves durability and protects the device from minor bumps. The laptop weighs 1.4kg despite its all-metal design. The device’s Slate Grey colour scheme is carried to all of the laptop including the lid and the underside. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7’s screen folds open to 180 degrees offering the flexibility to use the laptop in different positions. The laptop’s power button is placed on the side, and it also doubles as a fingerprint reader for additional security.

Slimmer laptops often come with fewer ports, but the Yoga 7 Slim has enough for everyone’s needs. There are two USB-C ports for fast data transfer, and you can also use them to charge the device. The device also has two USB 3.2 ports for connecting external hard drives, printers, and other peripherals. There is also an HDMI port for connecting an external display. The Yoga Slim 7 also has a microSD card slot, and a 3.5 auxiliary jack for connecting wired headphones. Wireless connectivity us is present with Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 runs the powerful AMD Ryzen 4800U 8-core processor. The CPU delivers a maximum speed of up to 4.2GHz, and it has more cores than even some of the high-end gaming laptops. All this means blazing fast performance. AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs produce less heat, and they are also well-known for their power-efficiency. This means the Yoga Slim 7 should deliver consistent performance and longer battery life. The laptop has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, enough for heavy multitasking. The device ships with a 512GB SSD, and there is also an addition M.2 slot open for future upgrades.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 may not offer you a gaming laptop experience but its Radeon Vega 8 integrated graphics will let you play slightly older games such as Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, NFS: Most Wanted and Rise of Tomb Raider. The graphics solution is also strong enough to handle photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro Corel PaintShop Pro, and Sony Vegas Pro.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 has a nearly-edgeless 14-inch full HD, IPS LED panel that promises natural and punchy colours with good viewing angles. Lenovo says the laptop also comes with a 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut. This makes the display ideal for everyday use and professional colour-accurate work. The display supports AMD’s Freesync technology, which helps eliminate screen tearing and makes the gaming experience smooth and fluid. The display’s 16:9 aspect ratio also makes the laptop ideal for streaming videos. Lenovo says the display produces up to 300 nits of peak brightness, so it is bright enough to be readable outdoors. The screen also has an anti-glare coating to cut-out reflections.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 comes with a spacious backlit keyboard. The keys are well-spaced, and their large key size helps to prevent mistyping. The trackpad below the keyboard is also quite large to make scrolling easy. It is made of glass so you can easily glide your fingers over it. The trackpad has zero pre-wobble, so it provides good feedback. It supports Microsoft Precision Touch technology, making multitasking easy.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 runs on Windows 10 Home and it comes pre-installed with Microsoft Home and Student 2019. This gives you free access to apps such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The laptop also ships with the Lenovo Vantage app. It lets you control the laptop’s power profiles and battery settings. The app also looks for system updates, and it also evaluates system health and runs diagnostics on the device.

There’s a 60.7Wh battery inside the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 which is larger than what you would normally get in a 14-inch laptop. Lenovo claims the laptop should deliver 14 hours of battery, which is significantly better than the rivals. The laptop ships with a 65W charger, that should fully charge the battery in under an hour. The laptop has 4W Dolby Atmos Speakers that promises punchy audio output. All-in-all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 is a solid all-rounder that offers unmatched features in its price range. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 is priced at Rs. 77,999* and it is available at www.reliancedigital.in and your nearest Reliance Digital store.
