The budget tablet segment has limited options, and users often settle down with underperforming models. Lenovo wants to change this with the all-new Tab M9. Where most budget models come with 8-inch screens, Lenovo is offering a 9-inch one at the price. With this, the Lenovo Tab M9 also promises to bring performance upgrades for students who want to take down notes and watch lectures, while also having some gaming capability on their device.

For a long time, budget tablets had build-quality compromises with poor plastic constructions and more. The Lenovo Tab M9 changes this with its all-metal casing. It gives it a premium look while also enhancing durability. It weighs 344g, so it is lighter than most 8-inch tablets out there. It is also 7.99mm thin and it’s easy to hold in the hands.

The camera bump at the rear is also minimal, against the finely texturized finish. The tablet ships with a clear case, so you can easily slide the device into a sling bag or a backpack without worrying about scratching it. The case also has an integrated stand that allows the user to position the tablet in the landscape or portrait mode. Lenovo also offers a folio case which can be purchased separately. You can choose the device in two colours – Arctic Grey and Frost Blue.

The Lenovo Tab M9 comes with a big 9-inch IPS display, so you can expect good colour accuracy and wide viewing angles. It supports up to 400 nits of brightness, so content will be legible even under bright lighting. The M9 comes with an HD resolution screen, so content appears crisp and clear. Lenovo has also added a Reading Mode that adds an ambient sound for a relaxing reading experience. The display also comes with TUV eye care certification that should mean that it reduces stress on your eyes. The Lenovo M9 also comes with a dual speaker setup which is rare at this price.

The Tab M9 runs the MediaTek G80 CPU, which is more powerful compared to other budget tablets. The device comes with 4 GB of RAM, giving you sufficient room to multitask. This tablet should also let you play casual games. It also has 64GB of internal storage, enough for storing everyday apps. However, can you also expand the device storage up to 128GB using a micro SD card.

The Tab M9 is available in two variants. The base model comes with Wi-Fi, while the top model also has LTE support. You can also make voice calls from the LTE models. The device comes with a 5,100 mAh battery so you can run movies and play games without worrying about charging the device.

The device runs Android 12 and will soon receive the Android 13 update. Lenovo says the UI has been kept minimal and has been optimized for a smooth tablet user experience. Lenovo is also offering up to 3 years of security updates, making this device future-ready. The device has Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless audio connection. A 3.5 mm audio jack is also present on the device, so you can easily connect wired headphones.

The device comes with an 8 MP camera at the rear which is good enough for scanning documents. The camera app also comes with Google Lens integration, so you can quickly translate text, get help with homework, or quickly identify products, plants, and places. For video calls, it has a 2 MP camera at the front. It also records full HD videos at 30 fps. The camera also works as a facial recognition sensor, allowing you to quickly unlock the device.

The Lenovo Tab M9 is among the best budget Android tablets at its price. It comes with a premium design, offers power with long software support and comes with Lenovo’s reliability. For a starting price of Rs 13,999* for the base model, this tablet easily outperforms its rivals. The tablet is now available at your nearest Reliance Digital stores.
