Lenovo Legion 7 2021 – Delivering total perfection

Every gamer dreams of owning a laptop that can run the latest games with the best graphics settings. Even content creators want quick rendering times. The all-new Lenovo Legion 7 Pro might be just the laptop for those looking for this kind of performance. Built around the best hardware of 2021, a high-end screen, it leaves no space for nit-picking.

The Legion 7 2021 (8CIN) runs the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, the best mobile GPU out there. It is just the card that can run any high-end game you wish to play, be it the new Far Cry 6, Deathloop, or the upcoming Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard. Complex 3D renders or video post-processing projects take enormous amounts of time to output. The GeForce RTX 3080 along with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU has enough power to get your projects rendered well before deadlines.

The 5900HX is the fastest laptop CPU on the planet right now. It has 8 cores and offers max speeds up to 4.6 GHz. These speeds ensure ultra-smooth performance, no matter how heavy the workload. With this kind of performance, this is a laptop that won’t get outdated anytime soon. Lenovo has also introduced a new software called the Legion AI Engine that juggles the CPU and GPU power settings to improve gaming performance.

The laptop comes with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, that’s more than most expensive gaming rigs. If you work on 4K video projects, this amount of RAM should make your editing experience a lot smoother. You can go through large video timelines, have smoother video previews, and get projects rendered quickly. The laptop comes with a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD. Lenovo has also introduced Legion Coldfront 3.0, an entirely new cooling system to keep the components cool under heavy load. It includes 10,500 machine-drilled vents, additional intake vents under each key switch, and a turbocharged dual fan setup that throws out hot air. It should let you play games without experiencing CPU or GPU throttling.

The Legion 7 2021 (8CIN) is designed to blend in any environment. Its Storm Grey colour scheme looks subtle. However, push a button, and the device entirely changes its character. The laptop has a per-key lighting system and a strip of LED that runs along the side of the laptop. You can try out a variety of colours, animations and even create your personalised styling using the preinstalled Corsair iCue RGB app. The laptop is built on an aluminium chassis for durability. It weighs nearly 2.5 kg, which isn’t too heavy for a 16-inch, high-end gaming laptop. The device also has a 180-degree tilting screen, offering more flexibility while working.

The laptop has a full-sized keyboard with a numerical pad for number-crunching software. Lenovo says its Legion TrueStrike keyboard uses special soft-landing switches that deliver deeper strokes with solid feedback. The trackpad is also 23 per cent larger than the older model.

Like the previous Legion series laptops, most of its ports on this model too are on the back. Rear-positioned ports give you more freedom and space to use your mouse while gaming. You can find three USB 3.2 ports along with two USB Type-C ports at the rear. These Type-C ports support a multi-monitor setup along with power delivery. There is also an HDMI 2.1 that lets you output to 4K resolutions at 120Hz on supported TVs. The rear array also includes an RJ45 port for wired network connectivity. For wireless internet, the laptop has Wi-Fi 6. It also supports the latest Bluetooth 5.1 standard. The laptop comes with a pair of 2W Harmon Kardon speakers. They support Lenovo’s Nahimic Audio features that deliver 3D audio for an enhanced audio experience.

One of the areas where the Legion 7 2021 shines is its display. The 16-inch QHD (2560 x 1600) resolution screen runs a refresh rate of 165Hz. It is HDR-compliant with 500 nits of brightness, so you enjoy HDR content from streaming platforms like Netflix. This display is also perfect for colour-accurate tasks. It supports 100 per cent sRGB standard, so you get the best accuracy while working on Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro projects.

The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio that is taller than other laptops, allowing more screen space for arranging apps and managing video timelines. The screen bezels are also narrower than the older model. The top bezel houses an HD webcam, good enough for Skype calls or live streaming apps like the OBS Studio. The webcam also comes with a shutter. The laptop comes with an 80Whr battery, that should give it 5 hours of run time. Lenovo’s Rapid Charge Pro feature also helps reduce charging times.

The Lenovo Legion 7 2021 (8CIN) is an all-out gaming machine that brings together the best components of 2021. It is the ideal device for any serious gamer. Its subtle design also makes it a sensible workstation. The laptop is priced at Rs. 2,38,999* and it is available at www.reliancedigital.in.
