JBL is a known name when it comes to audio solutions. You can choose from speakers to headphones, earphones, soundbars and more. Headphones are a more comfortable option when you’re working and now if you can use them to make calls, what could be better? One of the trending new product categories in the market are wireless headphones, but with noise cancellation capability. Turns out, you can get quality headphones with noise cancellation, and with JBL’s new Live 660NC, you can get them at an attractive price tag of just Rs. 12,999*.
The JBL Live 660NC uses 40mm drivers and that makes all the difference between in-ear earphones and large headphones. The larger drivers can render better details, more bass and louder volumes than what in-ears might. The headphones are rated for a frequency range of 16 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The Live 660NC are wireless headphones with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. You can use them with your smartphone, a tablet, laptop or even a TV. The newer Bluetooth technology gets you excellent quality, performance, and range, while also maintaining a good battery life for the headphones, and your device. They also support multi-point connections, so you can switch between source devices effortlessly, without having to pair them each time. The pairing feature is also enhanced thanks to its Google Fast Pair feature, which lets you simply pair devices using just a quick tap of the headphones.
The party piece is its noise cancellation feature which is rarely seen on headphones at this price. This isn’t just noise isolation that some earphones and headphones come, where the seal of the earpads isolates the amount of noise around you. The JBL Live 660NC have something called Adaptive Noise Cancelling that literally cancels out surrounding noise. Its Ambient Aware feature is meant to be used outdoors or when you are talking to someone. It automatically lets in some sounds around you, which is a good thing, considering how dangerous it can be walking around in public while wearing headphones. Another related feature is called TalkThru, which lets you have conversations with others when you are listening to music. The music playback volume is reduced, while the volume of the person talking to you is increased so it’s all very clear and audible.

The JBL Live 660NC has microphones onboard for recording voices, so you can use it for calls, but also to control the voice assistant on your smartphone. You can ask questions and the voice assistant will respond. This opens a world of possibilities. You can record notes, play songs on demand, get traffic updates and more, using nothing more than your voice. You can choose from a variety of voice assistants using the JBL App which is available for devices running Android 6 and higher. The headphones themselves are smart, so when you take them off or wear them, the music you are playing can be turned on or off. The My JBL Headphones app is also useful for other purposes. Besides selecting the voice assistant of your choice, it lets you tweak the EQ settings, the Smart Ambient feature or choose from a range of sound presets.
The JBL Live 660NC are easy to use. There are controls on the headphones, so you do not have to reach out to your phone every now and then. JBL claims the microphones onboard allow for stereo calling, where most affordable headphones and earphones use a single mono-microphone. The person you are talking to gets better depth and detail from your voice that way.

The JBL Live 660NC are also built well, and they come with a handy carry pouch. The headband is contoured well to wrap around your head without putting much pressure on specific spots. The headband has a soft fabric on it, and the earpads are cushioned as well. You could wear them for hours without feeling fatigue. They weigh about 265g which is a little more than a smartphone, so they are light. They even fold when they fit into your case, so they take up little space in your bag. They even come in two colours, black and blue.
Battery life is an important aspect when you’re talking about wireless products that tend to get used for hours every day. Thankfully, that is no problem with the JBL Live 660NC. JBL claims it can run 50 hours on a single charge without noise cancellation enabled or 40 hours with it on. When the battery does go low, a 10-minute charge can get it back alive for another four hours. If you want to charge it up fully, it takes a mere two hours using its Type-C USB cable.
It does not matter if you are someone who wants headphones for taking calls on, or for listening to podcasts, your favorite music, for gaming or just chilling late at night watching your favorite movie on your TV. The JBL Live 660NC takes things to a whole new level, and at a price like this, why wouldn’t you want them?
