HP Victus 16 – Made for Gamers

The PC gaming scene is bigger than ever. Few brands bring the kind of confidence that HP does with their Omen gaming laptops. They have been around for a while now, and in a world where component shortages are everywhere, great value for money laptops like the new HP Victus 16 are a godsent. Reliance Digital is proud to bring you some of the most exclusive models from the new HP Victus 16 lineup. If you have been considering buying a new gaming machine, and the search has been harrowing, the Victus 16 should be your savior.

Building a gaming PC these days means getting an idea of available models, figuring out what processor to choose, a compatible motherboard for that processor, how much RAM, what graphics card, monitors, their refresh rates, and a ton of other parameters. The HP Victus 16.1 lineup formula is simple. It’s made of what you really need and what matters. The offerings at Reliance Digital are made up of five models.

The HP Victus 16 we offer are available in Intel’s 11th generation Core i5 and Core i7 models. If you are like most gamers, the Core i5 model should suffice. The Core i7 should help with upping the game graphics quality further, but it’s also a great processor, if you spend considerable time on 3D modelling, and game development. Three of the five models come with the Intel Core i5 11400H. On paper, it is a 6-core processor based on a 10 nm fabrication process. It supports multi-threading, so you get 12 threads of processing power in all. It’s rated for a maximum Turbo frequency of 4.50 GHz too, which is quite blistering, and perfect for a gaming setup such as this. You get more if you choose the Core i7 models. The Victus 16 d0360TX and 16-d0005TX models come with the superior Core i7 11800H processor. This processor runs 8 cores in place of 6, and it’s based on the same fabrication process. It’s a significantly faster processor with 16 threads, and it’s perfectly for anyone working on content creation, or for extreme gamers. You get more for the price than just the processor.

Two of the models come with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, while the rest ship with 16 GB of RAM. The 16 GB of RAM models are ideal for futureproofing, especially if you are planning on using your laptop for a few years. Thankfully though, while most mainstream laptops don’t offer much in terms of flexibility, all the Victus 16 models can be upgraded to 32 GB of RAM, if you use two 16 GB memory sticks.

Choosing the graphics solution option is also simple on the HP Victus 16. Two of the Core i5 models come with NVIDIA’s latest GeForce RTX3050 graphics cards, which is great if you are playing cutting-edge titles. If you’re playing somewhat older games, or don’t want the Raytracing feature that the RTX series are known for, you can opt for the d0300TX model with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 graphics card. Although, if you’re looking at the Victus 16-d0360TX model that runs the Core i7 processor, it comes with an even faster GeForce RTX3060 graphics solution. This graphics card even comes with 6 GB of graphics memory, compared to the RTX3050’s 4 GB. This can have some benefits in some applications.

Those are the major differences between the models. All the models have the same 16-inch screen size. They all run full HD displays (1920 x 1080), which is fine for gaming and for productivity purposes. All the high-end models with 16 GB of RAM also come with displays running higher refresh rates of 144Hz. All mainstream laptops run 60Hz displays which are good enough for gaming, and for everyday work. However, when you run a performance gaming laptop that can render frames in the 3-digit range, you are likely to notice something called screen tearing. Higher refresh rate screens remove this screen tearing effectively, but more importantly render smooth gameplay, which is enjoyable but more importantly, can give you an edge as far as online competitive gaming goes. The screen and the graphics card work in sync. What’s also interesting is the Victus 16’s form factor. The 16-inch screen has been put into a chassis that would normally fit a 15-inch display. This is all thanks for the reduced bezel, that allows for a lager screen in a smaller package. Although most gamers might prefer headphones while gaming, the Victus 16 also comes with great stereo speakers by B&O, a brand known for its premium offerings in the sound solutions space. That’s a great combination of audio-video, in a compact setup that is the HP Victus 16.

The storage across models is also consistent. All the Victus 16 laptops run 512 GB solid-state drives. The storage is just right for your favorite games to be installed on, and the usual benefits of a good SSD are all present. Solid-state drives are way dramatically faster than hard drives, they don’t make any noise, or heat up as much. They are also lower on power consumption so that should help with the battery life.

There is more to the HP Victus than just the specifications. The laptop has a keyboard that was designed for gamers. The direction keys for example, are larger than you find on other laptops. The keyboard is also backlit so you can use it for those late-night gaming sessions with your friends. Most laptops, due to their smaller sizes, tend to skip out on a numerical pad, but that’s not the case here. If you are someone who needs to use the keyboard for more than gaming, you now have a fully usable numerical pad. This can be handy even in games that support a lot of binds and shortcuts. Even the trackpad is 19 per cent larger than HP’s Pavilion series, so it’s also great if you’re working on it.

Gaming laptops are powerful machines, and so with these kinds of performance components, one may expect some heating. HP has ensured that it’s well under control, with the Victus 16 having large rear vents that don’t just blow hot air out of your laptop, but they also look make it look attractive and aggressive, as any true gaming laptop should. The fans are larger (by some 33 per cent), like the vents, but they are also quieter than other gaming laptops. There are other features for gamers. The Wi-Fi 6 chip (802.11ax) allows for gigabit wireless network transfer speeds which should help you download games in minutes, depending on your internet connection but also help with online gaming with lowered latency and no packet loss. There is also the onboard 1000Mbps network adapter, so you can plug in a wired connection any time you want. The Network Booster feature should also help here as it prioritizes your game and voice communication data over everything else. It should ensure you don’t have spotty connectivity during an intense competitive match.

There’s all this and more, on the new HP Victus 16. We couldn’t be more excited. Reliance Digital is proud to offer you some of the most exclusive gaming laptops, from the HP Victus line-up.
