Ultrabook laptops are slim, stylish and can be taken everywhere. However, portability comes at a cost – performance. A compact chassis restricts manufacturers from fitting in high-performance hardware and cooling systems. Such laptops aren’t exactly affordable, so compromised performance is the last thing on anyone’s mind. The new HP Pavilion Aero 2021 could change this. Where most ultrabook laptops weigh between 1.2 to 1.4 kg, the HP Pavilion Aero is a meagre 995 grams. Surprisingly, all the portability comes without sacrificing performance.

The new HP Pavilion Aero 2021 has all the ingredients required for a top-notch performance. It runs an AMD Ryzen 5600H CPU laptop that comes with AMD Radeon integrated solution. This combination should run professional photo and video editing tools smoothly. The laptop also won’t disappoint if you love occasional gaming. You can smoothly run games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, FIFA 20 and Rocket League at high graphics settings. The 7nm CPU is also said to be power efficient, so performance comes without hogging the battery.

HP says the Pavilion Aero 13 uses an all-new heat management system that includes a slimmer fan. It channels heat out the rear, away from your hands, so you don’t feel any discomfort. It is also quieter than the older models, so you can keep on working without distractions of fans spooling up all the time.

The HP Pavilion Aero comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. That’s enough for running multiple software, and a ton of browser tabs simultaneously. For storage, there is a 512 GB NVMe SSD. SSDs are faster than hard drives with no moving parts, they can be more reliable in the longer run. The battery life is impressive too. HP says the laptop delivers up to 10 hours of run-time and requires only 30 minutes for a 0 to 50 per cent charge.

The Aero 2021 ticks all the checkboxes for being stylish. The laptop is thin, light and comes in two shades. The Natural Silver colour offers a subtle look, perfect for office or learning environments. The Pale Rose Gold variant is the one that looks more stylish and stands out in the crowd. Both shades use a matte finish that helps keep smudges and scratches away, while also offering a good grip. The slim and portable design also comes with solid durability. The laptop uses a magnesium-alloy chassis, that’s lighter and stronger than aluminium. This should make the device resistant to minor bumps, making daily commutes worry-free.

Modern ultraslim laptops are infamous for missing out on ports. You have to depend on external dongles that don’t come cheap. This isn’t the case with the HP Aero 13. The laptop comes with two USB 3.2 ports for high-speed data transfer as well as connecting external peripherals. A USB Type-C port is also present for data transferring, charging the device and connecting external monitors. The HDMI port that comes in handy while connecting the laptop to a projector or a TV.

The HP Pavilion Aero 2021 is a 13.3-inch laptop. Its full HD display (1,920 x 1,200) offers a taller 16:10 aspect ratio. The taller screen lets you navigate large spreadsheets without much scrolling. You also get more space for organising apps. The laptop’s IPS display comes with 100 per cent sRGB support. This makes the device perfect for creators wanting to perform colour correction tasks. A colour accurate screen also enhances content watching and gaming experience.

The screen offers a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, making it look modern and aesthetically pleasing. HP has also treated the screen with an anti-glare coating to reduce glare. With up to 400 nits of brightness, the display should be easily readable in a bright lit room or even under broad daylight.

The HP Pavilion Aero’s keyboard layout isn’t cramped as other ultrabook laptops. It comes with an edge-to-edge keyboard, where the keys are large enough ensure an error-free typing experience. The keyboard is also backlit, so you can comfortably type in a dimly-lit flight or a dark room. The keyboard bay houses a dedicated fingerprint reader for quick logins. The trackpad is also large and uses Microsoft Precision drivers.

You don’t have to wait for Windows 11, as the Aero 13 ships with it. The new OS introduces an all-new user interface that’s cleaner and more organised. There are also tons of new features to try, like the Snap Layouts and Snap Groups that redefines multitasking experience. Like most HP laptops, the device also ships with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019. HP is also offering free 25GB of Dropbox storage for 12 months, so you can store your files in the cloud and access them from other devices.

This means you can compile your massive software projects, edit videos and photos and work on large spreadsheets on the go. The 16:10 screen with thin bezels is also something you don’t find in laptops of this kind. The HP Pavilion Aero 2021 is priced at Rs. 74,999 and you can order it from www.reliancedigital.in.
