Your phone comes with limited storage and this can quickly run out. Keeping your phone’s storage free is important for getting the best performance, and managing your phone’s storage can be tedious and time consuming. Also sometimes, we end up accidentally deleting important data which might be hard to recover. We might want to store large files like movies on our JioFi, instead of clogging up precious mobile storage space.
Here are some simple steps that can help you to keep your data secure, without using up your phone’s storage. This is done by creating your own personal cloud storage device using your JioFi device. You can also access data from your JioFi, using your laptop and tablet.
You will need a microSD memory card plugged into your Jiofi device. This can be done by opening the back of your JioFi and inserting it in the slot.
Step 1: Access the web interface
In your web browser, go to http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1 (Make sure your device is connected to JioFi)
Step 2: Login with your credentials
Click on the log-in page. By default, both the ID and Password will be “administrator”.
It is recommended to change your default ID and Password. Read our feature on how to change the JioFi password.
Step 3: Enable the Wi-Fi Disk feature
By default, the JioFi may have the Wi-Fi storage feature turned off. Click on Storage and then enable the Storage Account option, choose the mode as WiFi Storage. The router will then restart.
Step 4: Access the Wi-Fi Disk
Click on the Wi-Fi disk option, which will direct you to your file upload page.
Step 5: Choose files to be uploaded
Click on the Upload Files button, and select the files you want to upload to your JioFi device. Once selected, just click “Ok”.
Step 6: Browsing and downloading files
Once you have uploaded your files, they can be browsed on the Wi-Fi disk page. To download the data, click the download icon, which appears next to the selected file.
By following these simple steps, you can now access you data, including large movies easily, whenever and whenever you need them using your JioFi devices.
Nicely written.
sd card not exist error with two different sd cards plz help
Hi Rupam, Try formatting the memory card as FAT32 before inserting it into the JioFi device. Please back up any data on the card before you do this.
