Google has just announced the launch of the much awaited Home and Home Mini, Google Assistant powered speakers in India. The Home is the larger of the two models priced at Rs. 9,999. The Home Mini is more compact, also more affordable at Rs. 4,999. Aesthetically they’re more quite nice to look at, and can fit into any living room or bed room, or even your kitchen counter. The Home Mini was launched in foreign markets late last year while the Google Home is a year older than that. Obviously, a lot of the development has really gone on the software side of things so you get the latest features today on both devices through updates. Both the devices support Indian accents and that’s a good thing. The Google Assistant support means you could ask the speakers practically anything and you’ll get the information or get the job done. With the right devices, you could even turn the lights on and off at home or control a security camera. You can ask it to play some music, or a podcast, or make entries in your schedule for the day, and really, a lot more. The Mini is more for those who want something compact that does the job of an assistant but isn’t as loud as the larger, Home model. The Home model offers much better sound and it’s great if you’re looking for something that’ll be used to listen to a lot of music on. Some of the other specifications include the WiFi 802.11ac connectivity which enables fast internet connectivity through your WiFi. The models also support most popular audio formats. There’s support for Google’s Chromecast and even 3rd party media streaming services such as Netflix. This means you can simply call out to your Google Home device, and ask it to play what you want to listen or watch on the device of your choice. The speakers are compatible with iOS devices as well so they’ll work with your iPhone. Google’s new product line-up is priced competitively. Amazon was earlier to the Indian market with their line of speakers – the Amazon Echo Dot, the smallest one of the lot, followed by the Echo and the Echo Plus. These too are sold at Reliance Digital. All the latest Google voice assistant speakers are available at Reliance Digital, with some interesting offers as well.
