Samsung smart TVs come built-in with their proprietary operating system called Tizen OS. It’s designed to look very stylish and match the TV’s aesthetics. Not just that, the OS also puts quite a personal touch with a selection of intuitive features.

One-stop shop for entertainment

Smart Hub has always been a big part of Samsung’s Smart TV offering. With the latest series of TVs, it has been revamped, offering more features and services that are relevant to users. One example of this is to have streaming services like Netflix and Amazon prime installed right off the bat. Smart Hub is where you find all the content you want to watch on the TV. Everything is integrated in one place which makes it quite easy to use. Just one press of the Smart Hub button, brings up all the content you’d want to watch on the TV. The layout consists of a band of cards that show up at the bottom of the screen. Here you can find devices connected to the TV, the streaming services, apps, settings menu and everything you need. Tzen_interface Playing content is also simple. Hovering over apps like Netflix, automatically displays the TV show that you’re watching, so all you need to do is simply hit play and start watching. One of the best features though, is the OS’ intuition to learn what you like watching and recommend TV shows and other content based on your preference. So you always have something to watch on the TV.

Auto detection of sources

TIzen_sources With multiple sources connected to the TV, it often becomes a little confusing to figure out which device is connected to which port. Tizen OS makes it simple. It’s smart enough to understand and detect all the sources connected to it, so you don’t have to. For example, if you have a Blu-ray player connected to HDMI 1, then that port will identify it as Blu-ray player on the Smart Hub, with the relevant icon. The same goes for a gaming console, your set-top-box or any other device connected to your TV.

Everything in sync

Tzen_One remote It doesn’t just stop there. While the TV does the job of detecting the multiple sources connected to it, the new One Remote automatically lets you control them, becoming a universal remote by itself. This saves you from the big hassle of switching remotes all the time. Be it your set-to-box, gaming console or Blu-ray player, the Samsung One remote is the only thing you need. Its ultra-minimalistic design also makes it quite handy to use.

Easy sharing with Smart View app

The new Smart View app lets you enjoy a better connectivity between your TV and other devices like smartphone, tablets and laptop. Once you have the app configured with the TV, it becomes easy to share photos, videos and music from your devices to the large screen TV. The app compiles all your media in one place, so all you need to do is choose the file and stream it on the big screen TV for your friends and family to see.

The Smart View app also acts as a secondary remote on the smartphone and tablet. It carries basically all the functions as the remote and even more. It comes with a virtual trackpad, which makes it smoother to navigate through the Smart Hub’s interface. The Smart View app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Game ready

Tizen_gaming Samsung smart TVs lets you enjoy HD gaming on the TV, without you even having to own a gaming console. The new Games app consists of popular console games that you can stream and play on the TV. The games are streamed over the web. So, all you need is a game controller and a stable net connectivity. It’s compatible with both PlayStation DualShock and Xbox controllers. The available games range from a variety of genres from RPGS, to racing titles to even casual ones. So everyone in your family has something to look forward to.
