Bose Smart Soundbar 600 – For a premium sound experience

Most of us know Bose for their noise-cancelling headphones and high-performance wireless speakers. They also have been making premium home theatre systems for a long time. One of the latest products in this segment is the Bose Smart soundbar 600, a device that costs more than even some of the premium 4K TVs. So, what makes the Bose 600 so expensive and is it worth it?

The Bose Soundbar 600 is one of the most premium soundbars in the market. It is 69.4 cm long, 10.4 cm wide, and 5.61 cm in height. It’s easy to fit under the TV in the living room or bed room. The soundbar weighs about 3 kg and is well constructed. Most soundbars use fabric mesh to hide the speaker drivers, which can accumulate dust and they are prone to tearing. The Soundbar 600 uses a metal grill at the front and the sides, which is simpler to clean and is also more durable. All the inputs are placed at the back and a metal heat sink is present at the rear to keep the hardware cool.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is available in colours that blend easily with most home interiors. While most prefer keeping their soundbars under the TV, you can also find some third-party stands for wall-mounted setups. The bundled remote control matches the Soundbar 600’s premium design. It offers all the basic buttons like power, volume, mute, and input selection. However, the Soundbar 600 can also be controlled through the Bose Music app. There are also touch controls on the top for power controls and activating the built-in microphone for voice control.

Bose claims the Soundbar 600’s audio performance is unmatchable. It’s an all-in-one soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos playback and uses Bose’s proprietary TrueSpace processing technology. Bose says this feature takes incoming stereo, mono, and 5.1-channel sound sources and upscales them for an Atmos-like immersive sound experience. If you want a theatre-like listening experience at home, this feature is worth trying. Gaming should also be enjoyable.

The Smart Soundbar 600 packs in Bose’s best-in-class hardware. It sports a total of five transducers, two of which are side-mounted while one is at the centre placed near the tweeter, for an excellent stereo audio delivery. The other two are top-mounted, separating this 600 series soundbar from other similarly priced options. Bose says the top-mounted speaker fires sound towards the ceiling, so it bounces back towards you for an overhead sound experience. Budget soundbars usually rely on virtualization technology to simulate height and fail badly.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 takes no time to set up, thanks to its optical-in port. The device also has an HDMI eARC port which gives access to advanced features like Dolby Atmos and HDMI CEC control, which lets you adjust the soundbar’s volume level using the TV’s remote control, among other things. The Soundbar 600 can also be extended using Bose’s optional wireless surround speakers and subwoofers which can further improve the experience.

On the wireless side, the device has Bluetooth as well as support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The Soundbar 600 also supports Chromecast. This allows you to instantly stream your favourite music and podcasts from your smartphone to the speaker. The device also supports Apple AirPlay 2, which means you can enjoy the same wireless music streaming from iOS devices. With Bose’s SimpleSync feature, you can even pair compatible Bose Bluetooth headphones for a private listening experience, which is ideal if you don’t want to disturb anyone while listening to music. You can also wirelessly pair Bose smart speakers, and group them and play the same track on all of them, or separate tracks on each speaker.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 also comes with built-in Alexa support. It makes life a lot easier, as you can play music and take control of the device using voice commands. Bose says the device has powerful built-in microphones that can detect voices even in noisy environments. With the Bose Connect app, you can also set up a variety of music streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is made for those who want nothing short of a premium sound experience at home. It’s a great supplement for your TV to make the movie and music listening experience way more immersive. The Soundbar 600 is priced at Rs. 55,900, but considering the kind of performance and range of smart features, this device seems worth it. The device is now available at www.reliancedigital.in. You can also experience the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 sound at your nearest Reliance Digital store.
