Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 – Taking back the ANC crown

Bose is known for its supreme noise cancellation technology, and models such as the QuietComfort 35 II were considered some of the best noise-cancelling headphones by audiophiles. The headphones first debuted in 2017, and the competition soon took over Bose’s domination with better performance and features. Bose is now answering its competition by launch the all-new Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. The new headphones use Bose’s new noise-cancelling technology, and they are designed for extreme comfort.

Bose has taken a completely new design approach for the new Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. The new headphones look cleaner and even modern, with no visible hinges and screws like the older Bose QC35 II. The headphones are available in three finishes – Black, Luxe Silver and Soapstone colour. They are made of stainless steel and the headband blends neatly with the earcups. The headband evenly distributes the headphone’s weight, and Bose’s proprietary foam makes for a comfortable fit. The earpads are also made of memory foam for better passive noise isolation.

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 can be adjusted for a personalised fit. They don’t fold like the QuietComfort 35 II, but they do fold flat and come with a nifty carry case. The headphones have a very few buttons to keep the design clean. The right earcup has a power and a digital assistant button while the left has a noise-cancelling button. The right earcup also houses a touch panel. You can raise or lower the volume by swiping upward and downwards. A quick swipe to the left or right changes the track and you can also play or pause music by double tapping the earcup.

The Bose 700’s noise cancellation capability is a big step-up from the brand’s QuietComfort lineup. The new headphones use Bose’s new 8-microphone technology for achieving superior noise cancellation. Bose says the headphones are fine-tuned for delivering natural-sounding audio with balanced highs, mids and lows. Their noise cancellation promises to block out almost every background sound so you can listen to music and podcasts distraction-free. Bose has also emphasised on improving noise-cancelling performance during voice and video calls. The 700 headphones use two special microphones which work together to suppress the background noise, so the person on the end of the line can hear you clearly.

The headphones offer 11 noise cancellation settings which can be controlled using the Bose Connect app. The headphones also have a Conversation Mode that completely turns off the noise cancellation so you have natural conversations without removing the headphones. Bose says they have recently updated the Bose Connect app to offer users a bunch of new features and a simpler user interface. The updated app now lets you see your headphone’s battery status, set auto-off time, and you can also use it to set your save your favourite noise cancellation settings. Bose has also introduced a Music Share feature that allows you to pair two Bose wireless headphone to a single device.

The Bose 700 headphones also come with built-in Alexa and Google Assistant support. It lets you use voice commands to play your favourite tracks, hear the news and even control smart home devices. You can also use the voice assistant to hear notifications from Gmail, Facebook and other supported apps. The Bose 700 headphones use Bluetooth 5.0 that is a major upgrade over the QuietComfort series’ Bluetooth 4.1. It has better connectivity stability and a range of up to 33 feet.

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 claim significantly better battery life over the QuietComfort line up. Bose claims they deliver up to 20 hours of battery life which means you can nearly use them for a week without charging. Bose has also ditched the micro-USB port for a modern USB Type-C port. The headphones support fast charging, and Bose says, 15 minute of charge delivers three and a half hours of battery life.

The Bose Noise-Cancelling 700 are an excellent pair of headphones that offer class-leading noise cancellation. These headphones are designed for extreme comfort, and they also promise clean and balanced audio quality. The adjustable noise cancellation feature and the refinements of the Bose Connect app gives the headphones a competitive advantage. The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are priced at Rs. 34,400* and you can order them over at www.reliancedigital.in or by visiting your nearest Reliance Digital store.
