We have seen many ultraslim laptops over the years, but none as interesting as the Asus ZenBook 13 2021. It’s a slim-and-trim laptop with an OLED display, selling at a starting price of Rs. 84,999*. Where most OLED-equipped laptops are priced well above Rs. 1,00,000, this one seems like a bargain. That’s not it. It also sports some powerful hardware to handle everyday tasks without breaking a sweat.

The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED ships with a 13.3-inch full HD OLED display. An OLED screen renders better contrast and deeper blacks. The display is also Pantone validated and it comes with a 100 per cent DCI-P3 certification. These features make the laptop ideal for colour correction work. The display bezels are minimal with a screen-to-body ratio of 88 per cent. It comes with TUV Rhineland certification that means it emits 70 per cent less harmful blue light than LCD panels. Asus says this makes the display gentle on your eyes and helps in reducing eye strain. It also supports HDR 10, making the content watching experience more immersive.

The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED is one of the most powerful ultra-compact laptops. The entry-level model (KG502TS) runs the AMD Ryzen 5 5600U, a 6-core CPU with a max speed of up to 4.2 GHz. For future-proof performance, there is also a higher-end variant (KG701TS) with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U CPU. The Ryzen 5 variant sports a 512GB SSD drive, while the Ryzen 7 model has a 1TB SSD.

Both models run 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and an AMD Radeon integrated graphics solution. Asus says the graphics solutions are strong enough to handle photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Illustrator. The laptop should also run slightly older gaming titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and League of Legends smoothly.

Playing games on its OLED screen should add more spice to the overall gaming experience. The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED comes with a 67WH battery. Asus claims the laptop delivers up to 16 hours of battery life, which is impressive for an ultraportable laptop. It ships with a 65W power adaptor with fast charging support.

Asus makes some of the most elegant looking laptops around, and the new ZenBook 13 is no different. It boasts a concentric circle design on its display lid for a modern and subtle look. The device comes in a Pine Grey colour. It is 12.9mm thick and weighs only 1.14 kg. Its ultraportable nature surely makes it a solid travel companion. It’s also worth noting that the ZenBook 13 comes with MIL-STD-810 certification, so it could handle accidental impacts.

The Asus ZenBook 13 comes with an edge-to-edge backlit keyboard. Asus says the keys provide 1.4mm of travel for tactile feedback. There are also dedicated function keys for taking screenshots and accessing the MyAsus app. The Asus Ergolift design is also present on this laptop, providing an optimum typing angle. The laptop also comes with ASUS NumberPad 2.0, a dual-function trackpad with an integrated LED-illuminated numeric keypad. It is quite handy while using number-crunching apps such as Microsoft Excel and Tally ERP 9.

Ultraportable laptops often miss out on ports, but this one doesn’t. The ZenBook 13 has two USB Type-C ports with charging support. This means you can even charge the laptop on the go using a portable power bank. There is also a USB Type-A port for connecting external storage devices. You also get an HDMI port for connecting an external monitor and projector. For wireless internet, the laptop has Wi-Fi 6.

The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED runs Windows 10 Home and it supports the upcoming Windows 11 update. Like most Asus laptops, the ZenBook OLED also comes with lifetime support for Microsoft Office Home and Student. The pre-installed MyAsus app lets you transfer data from your phone to the laptop. You can also use the app to change fan profiles and optimise the battery performance of the laptop.

The laptop comes with bottom-firing Harmon-Kardon speakers. Asus says they are tuned to deliver immersive crystal-clear sound. The laptop comes with the DTS Audio Processing app that lets you tune the speakers to your liking.

The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED is one of the most appealing ultrabook laptops of 2021. It offers an eye-catching OLED screen with the exceptional power of AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors. It is an ultra-slim device that can perfectly manage both work and play. The laptop is now available at www.reliancedigital.in, and by visiting the nearest Reliance Digital store.
