What may be the cause of Half Screen display in Samsung TV?

If there is Half Screen coming in your Samsung TV screen either from top and bottom or from right and left, then your TV needs service. Before service, determine the issue whether it is caused by the TV or by connected external devices and cables.

Major causes of half screen display may be due to panel or main board problem or due to poor broadcasting signals.

This guide can easily help you determine the cause.

1. Navigate to the Menu on your TV.

If the menu is cut off by the black part of the screen, please visit the Support Center to request service.

2. Check the External Device Connection

Verify the cable is connected firmly and if so, try replacing it with another cable.

3. Turn the External Device Off and then Back On

Power cycle the external device and check to see if the black section of the screen returns. If it does, you may need to contact the manufacturer of that device for further troubleshooting.

What to do when the Samsung TV is not turning ON?

If you’re having difficulty getting your TV screen to display anything but a black screen, it’s important to work out if the TV is switched on and just displaying a black screen, or if the TV isn’t powered on at all. The first thing that you should look for is the standby light, this can usually be found on the lower middle or lower right of your TV. The standby light will be lit when your TV is turned off and unlit when it is turned on.

The standby light is on

1. Press the power button on your TV remote
2. If your TV doesn't turn on, press the power button on your TV

The standby light is off

1. Disconnect the power cable from the TV and power socket and reconnect it.
2. If TV has One Connect Box (OCB), remove the power coble and Active Optical cable and reconnect.

Note: First reconnect the Active Optical cable.

3. If your TV didn't turn on, please contact Samsung Support

The standby light is flashing

This is a sign that your TV is unable to turn on. Please contact Samsung Support to resolve your issue.
