- YouTube
Live Streaming to FacebookStream directly to your Facebook profile and Facebook pages using the GoPro app and camera. If you'd like to stream to a Facebook.
Heads Up: You need to use the GoPro app to set up live streaming.- Allow permissions and connect your Facebook account.
- Another screen appears to set up live stream. At the top, choose to connect a Wi-Fi network or your mobile hotspot.
- Choose your sharing settings in the dropdown menu. This is where you choose to stream on a Facebook profile (Public, Friends, Only Me) or the dropdown menu will feature the Facebook Page(s) that you are an admin of.
- Give your stream a title and a short description.
- Choose the resolution you want: 480p, 720p or 1080p (1080p only available with HERO8 Black and MAX)
PRO TIP: Use 1080p for the best quality. 720p may be best if you’re using a mobile hotspot. Try lower resolutions if bandwidth or data are weak, or if you want to save storage space on your SD card.
Heads Up: If the signal strength of your data connection weakens, the video stream bit rate will automatically lower for the selected resolution.- Choose your save settings (you can save a high-res version of your stream to your SD card).
- Tap "Set Up Live Stream."
- Tap Go LIVE or press the Shutter button to start live streaming.
PRO TIP: Experiment with different mounts and angles, then frame your shot before you go LIVE. Make sure your camera is upright before streaming. If you turn your camera upside down, your live stream footage will appear upside down.- Switch over to the Facebook app to see your stats and check your stream.

Live Streaming to YouTube
Stream directly to YouTube using the GoPro app and your camera.
Heads Up: YouTube requires channels to have at least 1,000 subscribers in order to live stream from a mobile device to their platform. If you meet this criteria, you will need to enable live streaming on your YouTube channel. This can take up to 24 hours to activate.- Open the GoPro app and tap on the camera icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Now tap on the blue button in the center of the screen: Control Your GoPro.
- Scroll through the icons on the bottom of the screen, and tap on Live.
- Now tap on Set Up Live.
- A new screen appears with a list of streaming platforms. Tap YouTube.
- Allow permissions and connect your YouTube account.
Heads Up: You need to have live streaming enabled on your YouTube channel beforehand.- In the next screen, choose to connect a Wi-Fi network or your mobile hotspot.
- Choose your sharing settings (Public).
- Give your stream a title and a short description.
- Choose your location.
- Choose the resolution you want: 480p, 720p or 1080p (1080p only available with HERO8 Black and MAX).
